This is why I hate driving around in California. I know most of the stupid Mexicans around here don't have insurance, and they all drive like fucking morons.
I really wish you could punch people through the internet. Absolutely hate idiots who add emoticons to assholish, pointless posts. You don't even get passive-aggressive creativity points.Don't park in the street.
This is silly. You assume that if one has a driveway or garage they are safe.

Most states allow you to go after their assets, even with a small claims verdict. Some/most? allow you to even have their wages taken out.
My dad showed up to a business with his truck and the police showed up and the person "found" some money to pay off the claim real fast.
I won against one person but I knew he had little money. So I just had him reported, shows up on background checks and anytime he wants a loan.
But yea when I said sue I meant small claims.
.....sue him/her, win easily, and then get what?
Uninsured motorist coverage will fix your car, less the deductible.
I think you missed the important part of my previous post
If you get hit by a peniless unemployed moron that did not care and without any assets, where or how are you going to get any money? Garnish his/her wage? He/she is a bumb and has no job, drives a $100 car (if you are lucky), and lives in a $50 trailer. He/she does not care if the credit report/personal file is trashed.
Like Kyle said, win a judgment is easy, collect that judgement is the hardest part. Trust me on this, been there, done that.
I am hoping either he or the owner of the vehicle that let the insurance lapse has something that I can get.
It cost me $200 to have my car towed a mile, store overnight, and then re-towed back to my house to avoid the $40/day "storage" of my vehicle on their lot.
22, but it wasn't his car. His girlfriends mom or his mom, I am not totally sure yet other than it wasn't his.
I'm glad I have a house with a driveway and a garage.
Actually no, it only covers medical bills.
Those are called "piece of shit" houses.
About 1 block from my house is this poor bastard whose Ford Taurus has been hit a minimum of 3 times now. There was a ridge of ice forming in the middle of the street and it would throw a car 90 degrees if one of the tires hit it. Over a span of 2 days, I saw police blocking that road at least 3 times and I had to take a detour to either go shopping or return from shopping. The city eventually did get a grader on that road to break up the ice ridge, and there are little home made signs on the side of the road that say "ICY ROAD"
The lesson here is to never buy any property where you are required to park on the street. All it takes is a little ridge of ice about 1-2 inches high to throw a vehicle into your vehicle.
You're lucky, as that is a safe place to park your Ferrari. No one would ever crash into a garage.
Actually mine covers property damage, not medical bills, so yes in my case.
