Question My PC is failing and want to upgrade Mobo and CPU

You are quite right. Every time I need to move mine all the HDDs in it break my back. Today that happened a lot. The thing craped out on me completely. Besides all the occasional issues with keyboard, mouse, video and sound suddenly boot started to fail. Pulled it out of its cubby hole and took it apart and cleaned it up all again. Useless exercise, the mobo, RAM, GPUs all light up but sound is partially dead, keyboard is totally dead, mouse is probably totally dead but cant tell coz video is completely dead. I tried all the different USB ports and tried taking out 1 by 1 all the non essential components but still the same issue. It would have been a lot easier and maybe I wouldnt be nodding now if they were at least SSDs.

I calculated my weight by parts and it's somewhere around 25# IIRC w/ all of the drives inside the case. If I could compact it with NVMEs / SSDs and reduce the case itself to something more lightweight getting it down under 10# shouldn't be too difficult. Less case = les metal = less weight. The case itself most of the time alone is 10-15# with the steel. A few pounds for the PSU and you're already tugging the equiv of a couple of gallons of water to manipulate things. Building it was a chore in itself over a few hours it becomes a real workout unless you have access from all sides and don't have to upright it to get behind the mobo often to cable things.

Greets, just to let U know that its all installed and setup. I didnt even have to reinstall Windows but I did have about an hour during which the wifi/bluetooth wouldn't install. In devices the Bluetooth and the Network Adapter were coming up with an error. I even pulled a cable from the modem but couldnt connect that way either. Thats the point I turned to my laptop to try to find out what im missing. After a few minutes I turned back and there it was all working. Seems it decided to fix itself without any help from me.

They do work well. I just swapped one into my new mobo for my current project to go all flash for data / NAS. Was a bit of a PITA from what I was figuring because they enveloped the M2 into a metal housing that dropped into a vertical socket key-E vs using a normal socket horizontally. To add insult they also glued the antenna cover to the card making it even worse trying to pull it apart. Got it apart but broke the connector off the card for one antenna off the OEM version it shipped with. Goof thing I get these cards at a good price or I'd be a bit pissed if I end up needing to send the board back later.

The secret though to these 411's is being able to bundle both bands into a single pipe for more bandwidth. 8ms though is pretty good for a ping to google. I don't even recall what my normal ping would be to them since I've been running a VPN for years now and that just adds latency to the mix.

Yes I was really surprised with the google ping improvement. I am using CloudFlare as it was always faster. Previously was pinging them at 10-14ms now its pretty much the same 8ms as i get with google.

yea the installation of the antennas was a bit tricky. when I got the card and antennas out I couldn't even figure out where and how to attach them. My failing eyesight wasn't helping. Had to watch a few videos to figure it out and then only one antenna snapped into place, the other I wasn't even sure it did snap into place, NO click.
