Motherboard is Gigabyte GA-K8NS Pro, CPU is Athlon64 3200, case is RAIDMAX Blue Aluminum Gaming Case with 420W Power Supply, Model "668WUP", sound card is Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS and they are brand new. I have Gainward GeForce FX 5900 Ultra and Kingston HyperX PC 2700 512MB and have been using them for less than 2 years. Everything is connected properly but when I switch it on, the CPU fan starts for 1/2 second and then nothing happens but memory led stays on. I don't know which hardware is not working. :|

If it has never booted successfully before, strip it to agp card, one memory stick, powersupply and obviosuly cpu- then post back. PCI can be just like SCSI and completley halt boot before it hits OS level....

which components have never been successfully run before?

Motherboard, CPU, sound card and case are brand new so I do not know if any of them is defective but the graphic card and memory worked fine with my previous CPU, which was AMD Athlon XP Barton 2500+(non-overclocked) and motherboard, which was Asus A7N8X deluxe edition.

Like I said before, when I push the power switch, it looks like power trying to come up and CPU fan goes on less than one second then stops.

Taking a peek here also

I have the excact same problem myself but with diffrent hardware also just bought it.
My Motherboard is K8N Neo Platinum
CPU: Athlon 64 3200 Newcastle
and i tried using 2 diffrent PSU's a Aspire 500W and a Antec True Blue 480W
Non of them worked
Also tried clear CMOS and strip down the motherboard to only PSU connected to it and then it could keep the PSU alive no problem but as soon as i put back on the CPU/Cooler it would be back to twitching the fans of PSU/CPU Cooler half a round in a split second
My PSU's work fine on my old computer

Problem is i bought the K8N and the Athlon 64 at 2 diffrent shops and no ideer wich to send back

what type of cpu hsf are you using? this situation happened to one my friends, his hsf rpm output to the motherboard wasn't working, this made the mobo think it didn't have a hsf so therefore it shuts everything down. good luck.

Just dealt with a similar problem a week ago. Took out the CPU, cleaned it, applied some AS5(again), and reset the thing back in the socket. Remounted the HSF making sure it was sitting right, and it turned on like magic. The "on for a second" thing has almost always been a CPU or HSF issue for me. YMMV, good luck.

Do exactly whant Acemcmac told you. The point is to see if the system boots with just the bare guts. If it does not then it may be the PS. Do the case fans spin when you turn the power on? Have you played with the mobo's jumpers? Does the mobo have some kind of LED to tell you that it has power? Focus mainly on two things.

1. CPU/RAM/Vid Card
2. Mobo jumpers.

The mobo may not post because of any of the two reasons.

Case fan and cpu cooler fan spin less one second then stop, although memory led stays on. The motherboard does not have jumper(s). Anyway, I try your suggestions. Thanks all for help~^^
