You don't have to. Just give baby a somewhat regular bath, and there are no problems. Don't retract the baby's foreskin, ever. That introduces bacteria, feces, whatever and THAT'S what causes all the infections you hear about. In other words, keep it simple, pretend its a finger. Baby will retract his foreskin on his own when its ready - and by the time it is, he'll be bathing himself.
<-- has a nearly 2 year old son with his foreskin, no infections, and no problems.
OTOH, if you circ, you'll have to monitor the wound, rub his penis wound with vaseline, apply gauze, watch for infection, etc. The penis wound is soaking in urine and feces. Then you have to watch for adhesions, meatal stenosis, etc. Meatal stenosis only happens in circumcised boys and is the result of the trauma. The opening of the urethra basically closes up with scar tissue, causing painful urination and requiring surgery to fix. This can take 5 years to happen... and the occurance is 1 in 10.
It seems to me that a circ'd penis is much higher maintanence in a baby.
