^^ I'm with that. Lotsa patience needed for setting 1 of these up.

Good luck with that and yes I know him
This has got to be the strangest cpu I have ever dealt with/LOL!

OCCT stable 4 hours

I agree, Nice OC

Slowly climbing the ladder here with the new board, I'm at 3640 with 1.248v load, 1.3vtt, 1.28NB. LLC Disabled.

Doin 5fsb increments with 1/2 to 1 hour tests with Prime Torture Blend tests before upping it more. So far this board wipes the DFI's Azz as to OC'n a Quad.

I just got done taking my 9450 to 3.4 GHz (I know, I know but I run a 780i board w/4x2 GB DIMMs... IMO I'm lucky to get that.). IntelBurnTest was most helpful in identifying voltage issues in a timely fashion (unlike Prime which takes forever). It could save you hours & hours of Prime time.

Thanks, maybe I'll try it later. I run the Torture Test with Blend, so I only run 1/2 to 1 hour, not so bad.

At 3680 now with a slight nudge to 1 of the GTL's, 1.240v cpu volts load. The chip is doing much much better on the P45 platform as opposed to the P35 platform, at least with my limited testing.

I'm afraid to run linpack. I don't wanna start at square one with a failed test.

I'm sure you'd be fine. For me, I passed Linpack but went into COD4 and got popped right back to the desktop, opened up prime again and sure enuff, got an eror in worker2. Played with it for awhile and found it wanted a small bump to the NB and a small bump to the NB GTL as well. All is good at 8 x 465 now. Linpack however called the setup good after 10 itterations of 1750 mb's. So, I don't trust it right now, but it will show obvious errors right away.

I heard it was a tougher pass so I dunno. I tried OCCT after using prime and failed OCCT right away. Took a good bit of tweaking to pass OCCT so I want to be oblivious and happy.

I didn't even run OCCT yet, will do that tonight. It's odd how we can pass 1 then not the other. So far doing ok here, just 30 to 45 minutes of Prime torture tho, but the majority of the time if it is gonna go south it seems like its in the first 15 minutes or so.

Not in my case, I can usually prime for about an hour ok, then BAM fail. OCCT was torcher though. It took me forever to get that to pass!

Nice clock!! I had mine initially at 3750 but after passing prime for many many hours, it failed OCCT and I had to drop it back to 3.7 even for a pass. I'm sure I could tweak volts to get it back up but the minimal gains aren't worth the hassle to me.

Still playing with it, 1.248 cpu Load in cpu-z, LLC still disabled tho...

Larry

ps.. The guy who has the other chip like this is at 4ghz but not stable, think I got a lucky chip here.

NICE! I'm sure this chip could do more also, my mobo just doesn't have the options needed to clock a quad for max.

I got it stable at 3880, albeit too much voltage for 24/7 so I settled in at 3840. I be done finally

3880 was 1.35 or so vtt and 1.32v cpu, not to mention NB volts which were getting up there. Yes, that really isn't high, but compared to 1.248v load for the cpu, 1.30vtt and 1.32nb, for a little bit higher is not worth it.

I can boot at 4000, but never even tried to get it stble there. Maybe later I'll run er up again but for now, 3840 is fast enuff.

Larry

edit; I forgot the main reason, the higher I went in clock speed the more I had to drop Performance level. I'm at 10 right now with pullins, but it wanted 12 for higher, no way I wil run like that.
