So i was looking at the Seats of the Mitsubishi Concept X, and noticed something wrong. The seat harnesses weren't attached correctly. It shouldn't be connected straight down the way it is because all my life, i've been told that it's really bad for your back and spine. It should be mounted at a 90 degree or similar angle behind you so that it doesn't ****** up your spine.

Well.. What if the back of the seat had a spine like it does on the Concept X, and inside that spine, had a special electronically controlled gas strut or spring or something that allows the brackets to slide up or down? The hard the g-forces, the harder it is to pull the bracket up. So if you brake REALLY hard, the brackets lock up and keep you in place, but during normal driving, it will loosen and allow somewhat free movement.. The harder you drive, the tighter it gets. Think of it as seat belt pre-tensioners adapted for 4 point harness.

However, the crucial point is that it must apply the tension exponentially.. so that you aren't pulled straigt down into your seat and hurt your spine.

(edit: i made the photoshop before i completely thought of this idea. instead of spring loaded spine, we use an electronically controlled somethingamajigger.)

or maybe i have no idea what i'm talking about and all of this is bullshit cuz i'm no engineer.

You don't want things to be fully electronically controlled if they are supposed to work in an accident situation.
