What exactly has Obama and the Democrats done that you consider far left?

I am talking about congressional seats, which the Dems lost in 04 as well. Because they embraced lunatics like Moore, Soros and his Moveon.org, Code Pink, and Carter. People who are outside the mainstream in this country.

Dean's main push once he took over was to

A. Stop the lunatics from driving out the moderates
B. Move center left and support moderates who will win elections to expand the party

Yet Moore was prominent with Sicko and MoveOn.org was very active in pushing for the Democrats in general and then Obama in particular.

The Democrats are already center right from a world perspective. I'd love it if they moved Center Left.

STOP DRINKING THE KOOL AID, AND OPEN YOUR EYES AND EARS!

Apparently the bill already has been 'affective' as it has provoked your crazy and emotional response. If you mean 'effective', the presence or absence of abortion coverage will mean almost nothing as to the final effectiveness of the bill.

Yes it will in ways you cannot see. Because you rely on your own understanding.

They are going to kill grandma again???
It was pretty tough the first time! She's pretty good with her cane.

I have a question that has been bugging me since the healthcare debate heated up.
How much of the cost of health care is due to current Federal, State, and Local government regulations that Hospitals, Doctors, and others have to comply with??
Or another way..
Is our current system really a free market or is this crisis government induced??

As far as I know, I have very little ability to negotiate with my provider OR select what services I may or may not desire. Example: I would pay a co-pay and my provider bill my insurance company big bucks when I go for a Flu shot yet I could get the same service for $5 at the local clinic.

I think I'm rambling...

As much as I believe in free markets and capitalism, SOME (not all) health issues that people encounter in their life they simply cannot do anything about. I can only imagine what it must be like for a family who loses health insurance because of loss of job, can't afford one otherwise in the open market (or doesn't qualify), and then something terrible happens. I honestly believe that the FAR right would say 'hey, tough shit, thats life' where as I personally believe that when it comes to real health issues like major surgery people should NOT be going bankrupt over that.

Do people ever think about the loss of productivity/spending when someone's entire nest egg is wiped out due to a caner or some kind of heart disease?

No one is able to give me a straight answer either when I bring up this scenario of a close friend:

Early 50s man, worked his ASS off all his life, has enough to retire, but unfortunately was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was treated, cancer is gone, but he cannot retire... why? Because he is uninsurable in the open market, he could even AFFORD it, but simply cannot get insurance. Too young for Medicare, WTF is he supposed to do? Talk about getting your American dream crushed. Work your ass off, build up wealth, only to find out you can't use it because it might be 'wiped out' by the outrageous costs of our medicine. What do you tell this man in his situation? He essentially is losing his freedom to retire.

My mom was in the same situation as the one you described, 60 , so 5 years too early for medicare. got laid off and 3 months later had to get emergency brain surgery because of a hemmorage. no symptoms before hand, completely came out of nowhere.

if she didn't have health insurance (which we werent too sure when it happened because dont know if they were diligent enough to switch over to my dad's plan right away) the bill woulda cost us literally $900K for emergency operation , ICU stay and 3 months of rehab. HTF were we supposed to pay for that shit?

what made the situation completely shitty was that not only was i worried about my mom not making it out of surgery, i started planning how we would file bankruptcy and all this shit. luckily we had a fairy tale ending, my mom recovered 100% and she was under my dad's plan, but I could imagine that there are many situations that aren't as fortunate as mine. what if she was a widow and couldn't get another plan?

Are you slow or something? Since when do Democrats run campaigns on a world scale?

obama clearely stated that no funds will be for abortions.
by looking at your signature, i assume that you are a christian of some sort.

how do you reconcile the idea of not providing basic health care to people who aren't fortunate to have it to your faith in jesus? wasn't love one another the golden rule, and basically the theme of the new testament? wasn't it pretty clear in the corporal works of mercy that we will be judged on how we care for the sick? or do you just follow the few vague verses out of the bible to be bigoted toward gays?

Of course. Govt mandates on care, insurance companies, regulation for everything under the sun, requirement of providers to take anybody and treat them regardless and pass the cost onto private insurance, govt itself denying claims sticking the provider with the bill which is then passed onto private insurance, not allowed to purchase insurannce across state lines. They setup the house of cards to fail with big govt, then blame the free market when it collapses.

I cant think of an industry in this country that is more heavily regulated. Yet it is the free markets fault it is failing. Amazing work of misdirection imo.

Of course the Dems all to soon forget about the Democrats in Congress boo-ing George Bush during one of his Speeches. Or some of the sitting Dems calling him a looser while he was in office.
If you can't take the heat...

My view on his speech is that he said what he thinks needs to be said to the people to get their support. Regardless of wht he says, Congress will do whatever they want and try to pass something that no one wants, because frankly, they Congress and the President don't have a player in the game. They will not be subject to the new health plans as they have their own.

I'll trust a Healthcare plan from Congress when it includes them getting rid of the special plan they have now and going on the same system you or I are on.

Neither. Your so-called "lunatic left" was still there in 2006 and 2008 and the Democrats gained tremendously.

The Democrats are already center right from a world perspective. I'd love it if they moved Center Left.

Are you slow or something? Since when do Democrats run campaigns on a world scale?

I could ask you the same question. You and yours go into hysterics about lunatic leftists and all that when the people you are complaining about would be considered center right by the rest of the world. You should be grateful that the Democrats are who they are or your worst nightmares, like UHC and peace, might actually come true.
