did this argument start after refusing to pay some sort of higher price for the pot than he used to pay? I predict no cops cuz his pot would be in jeopardy if they found her pot, cuz she'd rat on him if she got busted for dealing. mmhmm, that's it.

I just don't think that her pushing me over and kicking the door open is worth it. I've never been a big fan of the police, and I'd rather jsut pack everything, get out, and never see her again. I already have the security deposit and a check for half the month's rent, so I'm pretty much all set.

She doesn't have anything at all on me.

Besides, isn't recreational amounts of pot legal in Madison? What's the law say about selling?

Dealing is still a felony.

I predict he is the buyer.

No, I actually don't buy from her anymore, due to quality issues. I have nothing to worry about for that either, since the laws in Madison are mainly against public use and selling and tend to ignore personal use.

This is F'in ridiculous. The selling pot is ANOTHER reason to call the cops, especially BEFORE the baby is born.

Common sense.

Get the mother help with the drug problem and have her straighten out BEFORE we just have another fucked up kid in the world.

You think selling pot is somehow helpful, that growing up with potheads coming into your hose to buy drugs from your mom is going to be a "great learning experience" towards a healthy childhood? Jesus christ use some damn common sense, grow a pair and call the cops.

If you give a damn at all about the baby, you should definitely call the cops and have the system straighten her out. Where is the logic in keeping the mom in pot-funded money for the baby? That's like saying "Yeah, I think I will leave my 5 year old son alone to play with Mike Tyson, OJ Simpson and Michael Jackson for a few hours."

So you could call the cops, get her in trouble, possibly kicked out where you get the good room back, or if she comes back she'll not treat you like that again.

But you're just going to puss out and live at your parents' place. Let her know she can push you around, let her baby grow up with a drug dealing mommy.

Must be ATOT here.

There is no other hidden part to the story. She flipped out over the electricity. No, I don't understand it either.

I just want to get everything of mine out before she gets back from work. Maybe once I have everything of mine out of the house (I wouldn't put it past her to literally throw anything of mine out in the street) I will call the cops. I just never want to see or deal with her again.

What kind of time frame should I contact the police in?

I've been looking for somewhere else to move for a few months now. All my other possible roommates fell through, and after this, I think I'm going to be looking at singles.

Also, if I did call the cops, would I have to see her again or talk with her, or would it be all separate?

What time frame is as soon as possible. If you want to wait until you're packed and leaving maybe that's fine...

But I am not a lawyer.

A lawyer or someone well-versed in your local laws could best answer that question and the one about seeing her again. I don't think you need witness protection though.

You will probably have to go to court, but if they find the dope then she will just be in jail for that and you can drop the assault charges.

I think situations like this, it is normally seen as okay to have wait until you have vacated your belongings and are away from the property.

What the crap, you live here in madison?! I don't want any psycho pregnant women running around in this city. I also don't want some psycho drug dealing, boozing, coke head raising a kid while dealing pot in this city. Please call the cops for my sake.

Exactly. She needs help. Time for the law to give it to her. Otherwise, just another crack baby having a crack baby.

Do the world a favor.

lmao i laugh at the stupidity in this thread.
dealing pot = a horrible mother
you people have no clue how many people have raised children and been potheads. Dealing pot is something typically for the young, for extra cash.. they tend to get out of that as they age, but don't necessarily ditch the pot itself. It's not something I'd be worried about. Personally, the fact that she quit everything, to me proves that she is a capable mother as of now. Wait until the child arrives and see how much her habits, if she picks them back up, have an effect on her parenting abilities. It doesn't necessarily mean she will be a bad mother if she smokes and deals out dimes. That's petty dealing.

Call the cops, now! What's wrong with you? Do you have a spine? Are you a pushover in general? You're not going to have a place to stay. All because this psycho bitch went bananas over something petty as 1/3 of an electric bill. WOW

Well, now there's a drug angle. Maybe she's growing pot in her room, and is worried that if the combined usage in the apartment gets too high, the feds will notice.

It's more common than most people think, but hardly 'typical'.

fwiw - it's not worth the effort it to call the cops. Sadly, it could bite you in the ass if you did. Not sure why you gave up your nice room to live in a smaller one or why you're letting her kick you out but it sounds like you don't want to be there anyways and you have your money.

Just shit on her bed and call it even.

the only thing I was saying is typical is petty pot dealing, simply someone who likes to score decent size amounts of stuff at a time and deals small amounts to people they usually know, or at friends of those they know. that's a younger person thing, and sometimes will continue into the professional world where they work office jobs and continue that style of dealing, or go to dealers that are like them.

DON'T CALL THE COPS. It will be her words against yours and the cops will believe HER.
You may end up spending the night in jail, spending thousand of dollars worth of legal fees and if you are lucky, they will throw out the charges. If you are not lucky, you end up with a criminal record.

Your best bet is to move out ASAP.

This thread delivers. We've got the idiots who equate pot dealing to being a "crack baby." We've got people who advocate calling the police instead of talking to the girl. We've got an OP who doesn't understand that pregnancy might have an effect on a woman's mood. And we've got the equal rights, equal fights crowd. Anyone want to take bets on who will come out worse if I let a random chick punch me, and then i punch her right back in the face? (it's rhetorical, don't answer )

It seems like you don't want to call the cops, but it might be necessary in the end. I would have a talk with her and make sure that she knows the next time she tries to resort to physical violence, police will be called. She acted inappropriately and she might know it, if you talk with her the situation could be resolved. Beyond that, would you really want to get cops involved in such a situation? More hassle then good will come of it, imo.
