I have questions of whether or not I should get that motherboard or get a better one, although I'd like to use SLI but the mobos out there that are more overclockable than this one are too expensive. im aiming for around 140-200 and I'd dump SLI for a better mobo, P5B or something around that. I would also like the mobo to support everything in the future so I dont have to get a new one. Also im wondering if that case is neccessary for this system.

If you wanna go SLI, the Asus P5B is SLI ready. Though it's not officially supported, you can d/l hacked drivers to make it SLI capable. link

Ditch that 17" LCD and get a 20". You're going to be starting at a monitor for a long time, get a big one.

A1C, now that you bring up the LCD... To me, the price difference between 19" and 20" LCDs is very large. Most of the time you can get 2x 19" LCD for the price of a single 20". Not something I recommend, usually.

Would it be better to get a lower quality mobo like the P5N that supports SLI but not much overclocking or a P5B with no SLI but can support future Quads? For gaming at least.

In a month or so new SLI mobos hit the market that'll also overclock better than the current Conroe/SLI mobos. Rumors are they'll overclock just as well if not better than the current good overclocking Conroe/ATI mobos. Might want to wait for them. Depends on how needy you are right now. Whatever you choose get a mobo that supports Quadcore for future upgrades.

Cases are kinda hard to reccomend because alot of times beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Function is more Important IMO but looks do matter to some folks. Get a aluminum case that has at least 3 120mm fans in it. Preferabbly a front 120mm intake, 120mm rear exhaust, and either a 120mm side intake or a 90mm/120mm top blow hole fan. Having both is a big plus IMO but either will do fine. As long as you have that you shouldnt have any case cooling problems.

The Antec 900 has alot of buzz going on. I guess its okay in looks. Functionally it looks good. Here's a link to one guy's warning though. May want to look into it. http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/forums.asp?s=2&c=9&t=14851 If you like big side fans the Enermax Chakra is pretty good. I like them (actually my daughter's). Its retailing for about $70 at most places. Lian-Li has some good case choices as well so look at them.

Would you guys suggest a Gigabyte DS3 or a P5B, for overclocking/gaming/future upgrades.
