I asked because the people that do, I would like for them to. The people who meditate, I ask them to think about her. Those who sacrifice at the alter, well you can help there too.
It is not a muscle in the sense of usual muscles..but stimulating it with mental "exercise" does help. Brains are remarkably good at finding solutions to injuries..rewiring themselves to compensate for damage. It stands to reason that the more active the brain is and the more neurons that are firing back and forth as a result of mental stimulation, the faster this process will go.

Curious as to why people ask this in ATOT.
I think instead of doing something that is a total waste of time and effort, i.e. praying, I'll offer some constructive advise.
Start with pictures, any and all pictures with her in it, start talking about it in details. Repaint her life for her with pictures, then move to videos.
Oh, and watch 51st Dates (Adam Sandlers and Drew Barrymore).
TV makes me think sometimes amnesia isn't permanent, hope that's the case. Good luck.
On the other hand, if there was anything about your sister that annoyed you, you can probably prevent that trait from popping up again? :awe:
is being an ass part of your constructive advice?
Sending some prayers your sisters way OP.
You're a jerk by adding your religious commentary into a thread that is about the OP looking for support, whether you construe that as emotional or spiritual.I think instead of doing something that is a total waste of time and effort, i.e. praying, I'll offer some constructive advise.

You know when people ask for prayer, they aren't always asking for a supernatural cure for an ailment. Prayer and meditation are an integral part of the human identity and represent deep concentration and focus on the self, others, life, and (but not exclusively) the supernatural. Prayer is not a magic bullet, but by offering prayers, meditations, or condolences to the person in need, you show the deepest sign of emotional support that the human psyche can muster. It signifies a spirit of togetherness that makes the person feel supported and loved in times of need.prayers heal no one..don't be an idiot. his advice is better than yours.

Also, unless the doctors have advised it, sitting down and trying to force her to recall her life is a pretty bad idea. She'll feel pressured and cornered and helpless rather than loved and supported, not the impression you want to give her of these people she's been told are her family.
"Praying" for her would be a lot easier with pics...
Update on my sister: Had a second CT scan today. Everything looks good. She still has amnesia and has no memories prior to yesterday. She is relearning family and we are praying her memory returns.

Did she happen to be listening to shortwave numbers stations before she fell?
