Totaled as in beyond repair, or as in did more damage than the car is worth? I got rearended in my Ranger years ago, and all it did was dent the tailgate and ripple one of the rear quarter panels. But the truck was 10 years old, so insurance estimated the cost of fixing the damage to be more money than the truck was worth. So they totaled it.

never messes with cell phones, food, or the radio in the car. she has the attention span of a gopher on speed, however.Originally posted by: Xyclone
Common sense FTW. Tell her to focus on driving. That means turning off your cell phones, not eating, not playing with the radio/nav, etc if she can't handle it.
other than the tickets that typically accompany accidents, no tickets, no dui, no drugs.Originally posted by: Mill
Yeah, they will keep her. No DUI or drugs? They won't kick her off yet. Possibly put her on high risk. Does she have traffic tickets? Age?

For the sake of all motorists, tell her not to drive.

Well, maybe in the US women are different, but here insurance is cheaper for women because they cause fewer and also less severe accidents (i.e. mostly parking dents)

Are you sure it's your "sister"
I mean, a 250 pounds driver would make any car more stable.
On a serious note, my car insurance cut me off after my son totaled our Cavalier and rolled the Tracker.

Yah but insurance companies hate young males. Be happy that he didn't take anyone with him.
There was a lawsuit a while ago where a kid in his parents mustang t-boned a minivan. Long story short, he was sucessfully sued for 6 million dollars total. His liability covered 1 of it. He bankrupted himself, and he destroyed the lives of his parents as well since he was covered under their insurance. They courts took everything they had.
Long story short, when your kid is that reckless of a driver. Lay down the law, totaling your car should have been the last time he drove under your insurance.

I'm moving to Germany.
Women cause multiple little accidents. "Oops, I didn't see the car directly behind/beside me." "Oops, I took your mirror off because I have no spatial perception."
Men, OTOH, cause no accidents for a long time - then a single massive one to make up for it. "Aww hellz yeah, I'm doing 120mph!" *slams into embankment, rolls over three times, bursts into flames* *driver jumps out still on fire* "WOOOOOOO! YEAAHHHH!"
