My sister-in-law had her Jeep Cherokee stolen this morning.

Listen to all of you. Not everyone lives in apartments next to ex-cons, some of us live in actual houses, with driveways, in quiet neighborhoods.

Where I live, I wouldn't think twice about warming up my car for a few minutes unattended.

Too much judgement from people with no concept that people live outside of their little world.

I am going to touch on this point again. What is she going to tell the insurance company? Is she even going to call them? She shouldn't as she simply gave her car away and should be responsible for paying for the replacement. I still say she will lie to the insurance company.

How is it not stolen. Just because it was stupid of her doesn't mean it wasn't stolen.

Like christmas decorations. Teenage kids love going around stealing them for no good reason. Oh no, that means it wasn't theft, those idiots should have had those things bolted down and chained to support beams.
Most insurance companies do not cover vehicles stolen while un-locked with the keys in the ignition.

Basically, the insurance won't cover it if the owner did not take reasonable measures to prevent theft.

Claiming this sort of incident on insurance is like backing a new car into a pole and then claiming that the bumper should be replaced under warranty.

Looks like she is getting screwed. Her insurance company towed it to their lot and says that they will clean it up and give it back to her. She went through the interior with the adjuster today and found about half of her CDs, some of the robbers CDs in the visor pouch, someone else?s credit card in the center console (which she turned over to the police), lots of fast food wrappers, plus a clean, empty sardine can with a lighter in the back.

QTF! Is that used for cooking meth? Was the jerk off they found driving it making drugs in her car. She said the interior smelled like Polo cologne. I never liked Polo because it reminded me of a hamster cage that hadn?t been cleaned in two weeks, cedar shavings and urea. Polo could have been used to cover the ammonia smell.

The exterior was not as dented as she thought, but the paint is all ?scratched to hell?. Mr. Insurance adjuster was walking around the Jeep with her pointing at the gouges saying ?That ?ill buff right out?.

Insurance won?t pay for any of her personal property including 80+ CD?s, her expensive sunglasses, and get this they won?t pay for the broken bug shield that was on the hood when she bought it used because they say it is an after factory add on. My wife didn?t ask about the wheels and tires. Her Sis says if she has to take it back that she will sell it. More updates to come.

I just know they won?t fix the cosmetic stuff to her liking, but I am worried about the suspension, alignment and undercarriage since the meth head high-centered the Jeep on railroad tracks.

Also worried about androgynous ammonia contamination since meth kitchen contaminants can be absorbed through the skin. Save your jokes until you have kids or nephews and nieces. In college there was a guy on our floor that could make a bong out of damn near anything. Glass pipes, a coke can, an apple you name it he smoked with it. Could the sardine can have been used to cook meth?

Lucky for me, I have a remote start alarm on my car. The best thing about it is though that as soon as you push the brakes without the key in the ignition, the car dies. It just so happens to shift the car out of park, you have to push the brakes.
