I received this processor over a week ago and didn't have a chance to extensively stability test it until Friday/Saturday.

Here are my results with my new 3332 Costa Rica SL6Z3 M0 steppping.

3300 mhz @ 1.525 volts
3400 mhz @ 1.575 volts
3450 mhz @ 1.600 volts

I'm pretty satisfied with these results so far.

My L317 Malaysia SL6WF D1 stepping was capable of:

3300 mhz @ 1.550 volts
3400 mhz @ 1.575 volts
3500 mhz @ 1.650 volts

So they both seem to be on par with each other. I was hoping to get a mad crazy overclock with the M0 stepping but... oh well... overclocking is always a gamble....

The L317 was tested for stability by running 2 x prime95 for 6+ hours
The 3332 was tested for stability by running TMPGenc for 4.5 hours + seti@home

**NOTE**
This is on an ABIT IC7 (NON G) that seems to undervolt the vcore (of course this can't be verified unless i can directly measure the vcore with a voltmeter) according to MBM and winbond hardware doc at 100% load by approximately .05 volts. So 1.525 volts is actually around 1.47 volts but like I said.. this can't be verified without a voltmeter and measuring on the board directly.

PJ will have my 2.4C SL6WF by Monday/Tuesday to test it out on an Asus P4C800-E Deluxe. I'm hoping that the 300 mhz fsb mark is being limited by my board!!!

btw... one of these two processors are going to go on sale!

Shimmishim, I officially delcare you the AnandTech **KING** of Overclocking!

Where do you buy these magical CPUs that you always seem to have? And how do you know which stepping is the best? Do you just buy a bunch of chips from different places, then test them and sell the ones which don't overclock as well?

i buy my cpu's from all different vendors

when i was doing amd... i bought from newegg, pcsupplysource, gameve, and excaliberpc

this is only my second intel processor

both have been purchased from zipzoomfly (aka googlegear)

and me the king of overclocking? NAW... that can be reserved for someone else!!!

i'm just a lowly peon at overclocking...

not a bad little chipper ya got there.
too bad its a 12x multi :Q

it seems as tho the best chips out there can only do 3400mhz on default vcore so far. (IC7)
but thats the way its been for about 9 months now.....
my 2.4B can do 3393mhz on def vcore. very few can do better then that (still)

youd be much better off with a 13x-17x mplier.

my C chip testing shows that the performance curve of a C chip (12x) flattens off as you go higher~
my B chip testing shows that the performance curve of a B chip (18x) gets steeper as you go higher~
@ 3400mhz there is barely a difference between them~
@ 3500mhz there is no difference.
best (holy grail) performance is somewhere inbetween 13x-17x

...yep, im dead

lol....

well if i could find a 2.4B that could do

18 x 200 .... of course i'd go for that!!!

but how many 2.4B's have you seen hit that mark?

Believe it or not I had a chance to get a 2.4B that did 3.6 but I passed on it a few months back.

This is about the average of what the SL6Z3 does. ZZF rocks, from what I've heard, everything they've been shipping for the past 2 weeks has been SL6Z3. Great job though, I need to get my hands on one of these.

Is this new stepping only for 2.4C's or does it apply to the 2.6C as well?

i hear there are SL6Z4's which are for the 2.6's and z5's for the 2.8's or something along those lines....

but haven't heard of man people getting it for the 2.6's as much as the 2.4's and 2.8's
