He took it through the Duke Talent Identification Program.
We are pretty excited for him.

Yeah for the Duke TIP program. You should be proud. He will only get better from here on out.

I got a 1460 or so when I took the SATs in 9th grade as part of the application process for this boarding school.

SOONER: I participated in the TIP program for the summer after 7th grade. If you have any questions about it from a former participant's point of view, please feel free to PM me. I doubt it changes much.

PS - I'm just being a pround human being. If a father/mother can be proud of his son/daughter, can't a college student be proud of him/herself?
PPS - I'm sorry that I put male/female in all the gender/gender slashes. I reproduced it below in the PPPS.

no offense but how did you get a 1570 on your SAT when the right word is 'wish' and not 'which' ? And what is pround?

Sad but true, sad but true.

He may only be 12-13 but, unless you've lived under a rock the past 5-10 years, kids these days are think they're MUCH older then what they really are.

Poor kid probably gets made fun of, a lot.

Anyone want to provide an ACT score to SAT score translator? Like what 'average' is supposed to be?

23 would be about the 75 percentile for a high school junior so considering he's in the 7th grade its fairly good.

He's a fairly athletic and good looking kid. Plus he's got a cute girlfriend who is a brain like him. So he's doing ok.

That's very good but it's probably a different test. This is not measured in %.

My daughter has been on that program for 2 years now. It's nice, will look good for them as they progress in school. She's in the TAG program, *Talented and Gifted*

Keep encouraging!
