Er, not good lol. Still might not hurt to send them back to Klipsch and get an estimate for a repair.

My GMX 5.1 systems (which i used for my laptops sound system) amplifier failed after 3 years. I sent it back to be repaired for a flat 80.00 fee plus 32.00 shipping which i paid but the repaired one did the same thing. They refunded me the 80.00. So i now use the sats' with a Best Buy Insignia 5.1 receiver. Too bad, because for my little apartment the Klipsch setup worked fine and sounded OK.

it might be a small fix. The amp in my sub of my 5.1's died after 4 years i sent it in to klipsch $100 later and 2 weeks. I had a new amp module and my speakers were kicking in all their glory again.

Some Electronic Parts stores/places have 5.1(and other)Amps that can be used. Not sure how well they work or compare to the original, except that the original Amps used in Klipsch 5.1 setups has been plagued with issues.

Another option is to power the Satellites using a 5.1 Receiver and buying a Sub Amp separately for the Sub. This gives much more control on Amp Quality choices.

While reading through posts at the klipsch forum I stumbled upon this guy that does klipsch repair.

He is currently repairing some 5.1s of mine; I should have them back next week.
If anybody is curious about how this turns out I can update this thread or start another.

My 4.1's frequently "die" when the power gets cut. I let it sit there for a couple weeks and they magically revive themselves.

Read about that a month back or so. For sure report back how it works out. I await the day when my 5.1 Ultras, that I received as replacement for my dead 5.1 PMs(sweet deal ), die suddenly. They're such great speakers and Klipsch, despite this shortcoming, has been such a great company, but next time the Amp goes I want a fix that's permanent.
