My state, California is one of the worst state for taxes

Well that's the beauty of a united group of States -- if one gets overbearing you can move to another. Competition and choice!

However, if the feds mess up they mess it up for everyone. That's why they're suppose to have very limited purvue but they keep expanding their powers.

Ummm....correct me if I'm reading it wrong, but the only list that shows CA in a high category is the one that includes FEDERAL income tax as well. CA just has a disproportionate amount of people that make a dickload of money boosting up the federal tax percentage burden.

On a straight tax percentage, CA isn't *that* high.

Its not just income tax though, its also gas taxes, car registration taxes, sales taxes and a BUTTLOAD of other taxes.

Were they considering sales tax in these, or only income tax? Tennesse stinks if you count sales tax--just raised recently to 9.25% on everything but food, and it does include some foods.

Local taxes could be a city/county tax that are in addition to a state tax.

Either way, even if the "local" taxes did include those items you mentioned, CA STILL isn't in the top ten taxed states.
