My superiors made me feel like a total piece of SH*T today.

if it makes you feel better, they probably do appreciate what you've done for the store, but they're not going to admit it because they want you to make them even more money. that guy who got 40% is probably being bitched out exactly the same way, being compared to stores in other areas, controlled by different people.

didnt read the whole thread...but here is my reply to your post:

If your bosses told you that you were doing awesome and not to change a thing, then you would stay where you are. There is always room for improvement and its your boss' job to get you to the next level. It doesnt sound like they were very gentle about it, but that happens.

IMHO you kinda blew it man...you really expected your bosses to just give you praise????

Welcome to the real world, would you like fries with that?

Hey, don't listen to those jerks who say you shouldn't cry. I understand that you are passionate about what you do, and you were proud of your accomplishments. You worked hard, and they seemed to ignore that. It's alright to cry in times like that. It's actually healthy. Your ego may take a brusing, but at least you won't be holding it all in. Those other people all don't seem care about what they do. You are different.

I respect your bravery and courage admitting that you cried. It takes a true man.

NOTHING worse than unappreciative bosses/management types. Sorry it happened to you - I'm fighting for a promo this coming year and all my manager keeps saying in our monthlys is how well I'm doing and he's fighting for my raise also. If he said anything worse, I'd feel like $#!T too...

To not notice is one thing, but to shoot you down is 10x worse.

Hope it works out.

I don't know if it's been said or not, but I wouldn't take it personally.

What they are trying to do is to give you goals. Nothing more, nothing less.

I mean, if you go in there, and they say "Good job. thanks for playing."

Okay, so maybe they didn't need to bring you to tears, but you gotta understand what they are trying to do. It's not their job to be anyone's friend, it's their job to increase sales by increasing performance, and if you run around thinking that you don't have any room for improvement, then you will get soft and start going slowly downhill.

Again, they didn't have to be harsh, but you do have to understand that much.

Hope you feel better tomorrow, and I'm sure that your crew can vouch for the fact that you are an excellent manager. You see your crew day in and day out, and I'm sure your superiors see you once or twice a month, if that. Who's opinion matters more?
As long as your customers are happy and you are doing what you feel is your best, then you have nothing to worry about. Shrug it off, do what you can, but don't let it get to you buddy.

Run the PAC's into the ground and then tell them at the next years review they can suck your dick. Walk out while giving the finger and then go piss on their car handles, then go back to your store and set it on fire. Fvck them man that is bullshit.

My cousins best friend used to work at mcdonalds and he has vowed to one day blow a mcdonalds up without any sign of joking at all. I doubt he will do it but its still pretty damn funny.

Thanks for all the kind words.

I knew what they were trying to do but I'm still pissed that I sat in that meeting for 1 hr and there wasn't 1 positive feedback.
What really annoyed me was the comparison to that "other guy" over and over.

Back in May, my first business review....I ran 36% PAC and just happenned to get a 100% mystery shop score that month and all I heard was great job, blah, blah, blah....
My second one a few months ago....they came to the store and much of the same thing....keep up the good work...blah, blah, blah...
I'm providing the same results if not better this time around but all I got was "it wasn't good enough"
Really put a dent in any kind of enthusiasm I had working at Mickey Ds.
Putting me down definately wasn't a good way of motivating me.

On a positive note, I got one of the first mystery shop score for this month and it was a 95% and I will be getting a fat $500 bonus for it.
I have a vacation in 2 weeks and I'll be heading to Cali for some snowboarding actions.

After vacation, I'll see if McDonalds is still worth it.
But if I quit , whos gonna be the Mickey Ds guru around here

Emotions get the best of you and sometimes you can't control it.

I know now that they were trying to push my buttons

And for those who automatically associate McDonalds as a dead end job.......its pays me pretty well and I am the store manager you know.
Its not like I flip burgers for $6/hr. I can come and go as I please but that meeting just really really put me in the gutter.(and pissed)

so how much are you making? is it worth to go thru their crap?

On pace to making $43,000 this year with my bonuses.
Its pretty good considering there is no state income taxes in Florida.
No I don't think it's worth all the craps but it would be pretty hard for me to find another job over $40K with this economy.

My annual review came around and after ripping me because i didn't quite match the top performer in the state (finished 4th out of 45) in total sales they told me i was only going to get a 1% increase in my base salary because i made to much bonus money that year. I got up and asked if that was all and they said they were finished. I then thanked them for the 1% and told them they could start looking for my replacement anytime because i would never again exceed my sales target by more than 1% since apparently that was all it was worth to them and walked out.

Wow.

What was the result?

That sucks...anybody can cry given the right circumstances. I was about to either cry or deliberately run over some pedestrians earlier this year out of sheer frustration from spending literally an hour racing around in my car within the same few square miles trying to find a place I had to be at and was already late. I couldn't for the life of me find the fuggin place.

so you got a lil mad ...
you right they should compare you to the stats from the last years manager not the other locations!
kinda where i work it would not be fair to compare my job to the brother company thats 2 or 3 times bigger nad newer.

Do your thing if you like the job and they like the way you work everything will be good.

if not walk out !!
