newegg is great for the things I get there. You have to know what to buy elsewhere. Fans and cables, SVC, Monitors and cases and dvd drives (most of the time) Fry's. CPU/memory/motherboard/video cardNEWEGG ! Hard drives, wherever has the best price at the time.

Just a note...
I placed an order with SVC on 11/24/04.
I did not receive their 2nd email about shipping. I called and found out that the package was just shipped on 12/02/04.
Normally SVC gets me my items very fast. This time... Not So.

They have such good prices, I'll buy from them again though.

once i found newegg its the onlyplace ive ordered from online for 3 years now, i have made a handfull of purchases from zipzoomfly and frozen CPU, and only because of a hot deal or something newegg didnt have, ive easily spent 4grand there, never had an issue, im on the east cost, even BEFORE they had a warehouse in NJ i woudl get stuff from CA in 3 days tops, and big things like cases and mnitors, the shipping prices are always good on the bigger items as well, ive had to RMA 3 things, 1 was because they sent me 92mm fans and not 120mm fans, they gave me credit cause the ones i wanted were OOS, the other 2 times i just plain ordered the wrong thing, they took it back no questions, no fee,

hell i even got a free OEM copy of Windows 2000 + SP2, from them when i ordered a bunch of comp parts years ago, it was just in the box, didnt get billed for it.

now with a shippingwarehouse in NJ i get stuff in 2 days, never an issue, which is why they will continue to get most if not all my busniess

and about their RMA, as recently as 4 months ago a friend of mine purchased a 22in NEC CRT Monitor, after about a week he couldent stand it, even at 100Hz he said it gave him a headache, he called Newegg to return it, the said call NEC< he did NEC told him to call newegg again and tell them what was op, called newegg, newegg took it back, NO Restocking fee, he then ordered a 17in LCD TV which they shipped to him in VA for free in 2 days

also Neweggs website layout is 11ty BILLION times better then any of the other online comp stores

What did you order from Dell?

Newegg keeps real time stock, more or less. So if you can order it, they have it in their warehouse ready to ship.

Dell keeps stock for some items, and does not for others. Their Dell-branded displays, for example, are always orderable, but can be delayed because they are still being manufactured.

I just ordered two displays from them and they were indeed delayed for two weeks. But I knew that going into the transaction because their order status is usually correct.

They are really close to where I live so whatever shipping method I choose ends up being like overnight delivery.

Mwave is the same way for me.
so practically you live right next to it? the taxes is probably worth it! I'd had to wait 4-5 days in the east coast!

Never had any problems with Newegg, love 'em, but about 99% of my stuff from there. The two times I needed to RMA, it was quick and painless.

Long ago I had some major problems with newegg. Seriously, they screwed up my order BIG TIME. Well, after talking to a sales person, everything was squared away AND THEN SOME. Not only did I get free crap, I got very fast service from there on out. I fell in love with newegg many moons ago. However, I have not needed their services for awhile -- that was until a few months ago when I ordered my A64+Socket 939 action. Well, I decided to shop around since I had gotten in the habbit of just going to newegg.com and ordering. I went back to my pricewatch + reseller rating ways. HOLY HELL! Going newegg only was going to cost me $300+ more then shopping around. It used to be that newegg.com only could be the cheapest to at most $10-$15 more expensive solution when building a PC. There was a $50 price difference on my 3500+ alone! So, still much love for newegg.com, but SHOP AROUND!

I've had great luck for years with them until an order I placed this week. They admitted some kind of "unusual" problem in the wharehouse. It doesn't change my opinion of them, it just proves that screw-ups can happen to the best of businesses. Here's what they said in part:

"Since our warehouse experienced some very unusual technical errors, your order was delayed. As of now, the issue has been resolved and you should expect to receive your future orders with the same speed and processing that Newegg is acclaimed for. We thank you for your patience and understanding!"

I have used Newegg many many times and have had zero problems. Always arrived on exactly the day it was supposed to. I highly recommend them.

I have been buying from Newegg in the past three years and never have any problem with it whatsoever.
One of my DVD burner was giving me problem so I sent it in to have it fixed. They emailed me as soon as they received the drive and they emailed me back that the drive that I have was discontinued and offer me a refund or send me brand new lastest model. I accept the latest model.
Shipping is also very fast with them. I always get my stuff a day ahead of delivery schedule and I'm very impressed since I live on the east coast (Sometimes they ship from New jersey distribution center but makes no different than shipping it from California. still get it the exact same day).

I recommended the site to all my friends and they all loved it. I wish they were more sites like them.

Same here. Newegg is okay but certainly nothing to get excited over. They do what you pay them to do, most of the time. Their site is well organized, easy to follow and the prices are usually good, but Fed-X Saver is nothing special, at least not to me. If I order Sunday night or Monday morning I usually get my goods delivered in Texas sometime late Thursday.

I have also given objective feedback on items that were bad and they never posted one review; no flames, no names, no cursing, just totally upfront and they never showed the post. They have a disclaimer saying something about not buying based on reviews, blah-blah-blah, but why have reviews if not to tell both sides of the story? The reason is MONEY! They sell the snot out of items when they tilt the reviews.

A Laptop + Printer (For my dad).

Laptop just arrived yesterday, two weeks late.

I just got another email from dell, Printer is being delayed another week, expected to ship on the 17th, which means the 21tst if I follow the same shipping times as the laptop.

Hm... I somehow rememer seeing some text like "Expected Shipping date: Nov 29" :disgust:

ordered almost everything i have from newegg cept my processor. had to rma my 6800nu and went flawless. shipping was great too. the only thing i dont like is that i live in the next town over from their main office and they have to send it to a sorting facility first grr, not newegg's fault but damn fedex's fault. well infact i ordered a psu today and it shipped this same day and their website is the most organized not like most other etailers that you have to search around for anything and i like how they have their top sellers on the right and their special deals on the front page like outpost

My luck with NewEgg has been awesome. I love their RMA policy. Completely automated. There is hardly a reason to shop elsewhere you can almost be guaranteed that they have the lowest price on items.

I've also read recently that they have changed their POLICY regarding mother boards.

One poster at another forum said he called and they told him it meant he/she could return for a full refund, another poster at another site said just the opposite, that he couldn't even exchange it for the same brand,

Anyone have the skinny on this?

thanks

I'm not sure anyplace other than Newegg even comes close to a ~9.7 alltime rating on resellerratings.com. I've ordered thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from them, always get my stuff 3 business days (no sat/sun) later, the three RMAs I've had to do were all fast & painless, and the one time I had to call them I got to speak to a real live American :Q On top of that she sounded cute Anyway, she was extremely polite and, as usual, that RMA went flawlessly. I try *only* to shop there, but unfortunately, I occasionally have to order from other sites... I really hate doing that I'm currently waiting on WoW (Newegg was out) and it's been a week already, though shipment arrival is estimated between the 14th & 20th

I've ordered from NewEgg once, and was pleasantly surprised by the speed of the shipping and the lower shipping cost considering that I live in Hawaii.

I had a motherboard that went bad and I filled out the RMA request. Two days later my father passed away and I didn't get to send in the motherboard until almost 2 months later. They still honored it and I should have my new mobo tomorrow. I love Newegg but will use them to pricematch when I order stuff from Staples. I always put in my reviews "Thanks for the great deal Newegg!"
