Second post was just the image again.
Yes the folder names are correct. What I find inside is the subtitles file only. The videos are missing. And in the picture you see how the folders look.
No. Properties show only the size of the sub file.do the properties of the folder show the correct size?
This is my personal laptop and nobody uses it. And I was just watchingWell, it could be a virus, but I don't think it's a cryptovirus, since you seem to be able to access everything else, and haven't mentioned anything about a message referring to demands.
Not to offend, but at this point I am inclined to think it might be user error, or someone else in the home/building having access to your computer.
Have to done a file search for the file type of the videos? Maybe someone just moved them. You could use a program like Recuva to see if they were deleted. As long as you haven't done too many writes since the incident, and the drive isn't too full, recently deleted files stand a good chance of being recovered.
Another thought would be antivirus. Check your scan history and see if it pulled any video files. While not common, it is possible.
Thanks for the reply mate. I searched for avi and mp4 files and search showed them. When I opened the file location it opened fine and all were there. Then at the same time when I just went to the folder and opened it, no videos.Well, it could be a virus, but I don't think it's a cryptovirus, since you seem to be able to access everything else, and haven't mentioned anything about a message referring to demands.

That's the thing. It 's in the same folder. When I open it via file location in search results, it shows in the same folder which is empty when I open it directly. So, when you search finds them, right-click and select 'open file location.' What is the path to the folder they are in (bleep out anything you want if it matters to you)?
not as far as I know. recently I installed and uninstalled some adobe stuff, but I don't think it could be related to that.Is it possible you used an application with a media library that might have automatically moved them?
yes they play. no problem at allWhen you find the files via a file search, do they actually play?
