2008 350z touring 6 m/t

Finally getting around to posting a few pics of the Z. I bought it in March. Flew from Boston to Naples and drove it up. Car had 6015 miles on it at time of purchase. She now has about 9050 or so. 1700 of those miles were from bringing her home.

Car is in pristine condition. Not a ding, dent, scratch, scape, tear... or anything. Ended up paying 19,800. Very good deal since KBB is showing 26k+ .

I'm not a big fan of Nissans per say but I have always loved the Z cars. This thing has completely lived up to my expectations and then some. It's definately a good feeling being back into a RWD after 6 years with my S/C GTi vr6 ( I do miss her though).

You can forget everything you think you know about 350z's when it comes to this car. 07 & 08 Z coupes have a much more stout engine than the original VQ35DE, being the VQ35HR. This engine not only rev's higher but produces 306hp using the "new" dyno testing standard vs the 287 hp rating the older Z's were showing on the older standard. In actuality you can tack on about another 10hp to the already 19 hp difference. HR Z's are very comparable to the 370z's.

Anyway, enough of the BS. I love the car and plan on hanging on to it for a while.

I really don't plan on modding it too much ( i have a 4 month old daughter now and a house to up keep), however I did score a great deal on a magnflow exhaust around a month ago. Sounds lean and mean now. =)

couple of pics i snapped the other day while I was bored.

My driveway has a huge dip in it which is why the rear end looks so high in the pic. Regardless, It needs to be lowered anyways
Tint goes on in the next couple days. Maybe Santa will bring me some eibach's or something this year.

Had an lol moment yesterday.

BTW, this is not a brag post. I just wanted to share my experience cause I felt like an idiot a few minutes later. This wasn't a race to win but just an "oh yeah biatch" spur of the moment thing

A ragged fox body 5.0 stang rolled up on me at a light spinning his engine up as far as it would go. He was trying to say something to me but I couldn't hear him over all the noise he was making in addition to horrid sounds coming from his radio. Apparently he wanted to race cause he smoked his tires on green. I kept my cool and just trotted up to the next light. This time he was still babbling something and I noticed his overweight dishevled girlfriend (i assume) pointing and laughing. It felt like i just had a shot of adrenaline, and with the click of the traction button off I was set to rip. Sure enough, he wanted to run at green because I heard a whole lot of noise when the light turned but it was an immediate dissapointment. Right from the very split second I launched he was toast and gap growing at an intense rate. He ended up doing a "ricer" fly by with a blue hued smoke trail when I slowed at around 65mph. We get to another light and he was much quieter this time (engine and music). I'm pretty sure he was sitting much lower in his seat than his already reclined seating position. Cocky bastard got what he wanted, lol.

**edit 8/12/11

Car is now at 10,700 miles. I've gotten to drive it quite a bit with all the nice weather we've gotten. Still loving it, no problems. Haven't noticed any oil consumption to speak of which VQ's are know for, but hey the cars only got 10k.

Turns heads all over the place. Some Old guy almost fell over looking backwards at me when I went past him as he walked into walmart.

Think I'll keep it for a few years until I build enough Equity in my house to buy my dream F355 (coupe) or if I get lucky a clean late year 'rossa

**edit 4/6/12

Odometer is at 14.6k and still loving the car. Tinted it back in Sept. and it still looks great. Rear tires showing signs of wear =) Gotta start figuring that out. Wish my Septic bill wasn't due, lol. Thinking about side skirts. Nothing fancy really, I just think the sides need be lower and look unfinished. Eibach Prokit is around the corner. Oh, and I smoked my front lower ambers

edit 4/29/13

Car now has 21k on it. Still a blast to drive that only gets better with age. Car has mega grip and has induction noises that rival much nicer cars. Eibach Pro kit made it on and did the trick. Sits nice and grips tight. BFG KDW's were right after followed up by an Injen intake. Still thinking over side skirts but I feel like they will be next.

The hr motors are beast, they also i belive use a 3.7 rearend. Were as the previous models are 3.3 or 3.5, so that adds to it,.

nice buy!

Very nice! I actually like the 350z more than the 370z. And 6K miles on a 2008 model? That' REALLY low mileage for a 3 year old car. Great find. Now all you have to do is get some new wheels.

Thanks guys for the positive comments. I was fully expecting to get ripped apart for not having an M3, lol.

As far as wheels go, I would love to get a nice staggered setup but putting a second story on my house is more important than that. Maybe I'll sell my Hayabusa and use some of the cash from that, nah....

*obligatory - you should have bought an E46 M3*

Looks like a really nice car, and a good deal too. Is the magnaflow exhaust a catback system, or just the muffler?

magnaflow is a catback system. It sounds mostly nice, I say mostly because there is a little rasp to it. The kit retails for around $800 but I snagged it for $325 shipped. For that price I can live with it.

I put my pioneer avixc f700bt nav unit in it a little while ago. Not that I plan on long road trips in the car, but it has a nice usb hook up and a few other fancy shmancy things too.

Right now I have an ipod touch hooked up to it. The real nice thing about that is the integrated ipod control interface. you can view movies, podcasts, whatever.

I recall those cars running like a 13.1-13.3 in the quarter bone stock... the extra HP and gearing help. If I was to get a Z and could live with the trunk, I'd get that one over the 370z (because of exhaust tones).

Love the 370z interior....

I'm surprised people aren't buying non sport model 370z's nowadays used... I think it seems like a good bargain

The prices on even 2003 350Zs are ridiculous. It's a 9 year old car, yet I have yet to see one under $10k. The 1999/2000 boundary seems to add a few thousand dollars to the value of used cars.

That's one of the reasons why I went with the 3.5L Altima (VQ35DE)... it actually has some good power behind it. I believe the G35 also uses the VQ35DE.

My next car is going to be a Z or Audi TT, I don't want back seats at all. Nice car!

Nissan started the horsepower wars a decade ago with the 3.5L VQ. Now everybody's V6 sedan makes 300hp. What a world we live in.

kbb is stoned on that value. Edmunds is more accurate. There are a lot of Z's down here in S. Florida. It's still hard to find one with that low mileage and the last year of a series.

If you change the wheels, I'd recommend non-staggered to get more rubber up front. The Z understeers too much in stock form.

There was an article on some 350Z website called something like "Lawyers love staggered wheels" about how the wheels are staggered solely to create understeer.

I never like the way the 350z look. It look big, fat, porky, "well rounded"

370z look a lot better imo.
