Only I have never purchased a Zotac card in my life... According to the invoice I requested an RMA on April 27th for my GTS 430 1GB low profile. They even had my right name, address, and my phone number that I don't give out often.

Anyone else receive an RMA from a vid card company completely by mistake before? I'm heading out of town for a week tomorrow but I plan to give them a call and hopefully resolve this. I already have a spare eVGA 8600GTS and eVGA 8800GTS 512, I don't need another card sitting around.

You only run AMD now and that's how they try to get you back. At least praise Nvidia for a while in here, that's the usual trade for their free cards. Write 10 times "Nvidia rocks, AMD sux", that should be enough for a 430.

I would be looking at my CC statements, and make sure nothing funny is going on...

CC statements are clean, must just be a strange error. I'm assuming Zotac uses some sort of vendor for their RMA service and I must have used the same vendor in the past for some component or another which is how they have my information. Otherwise lava could be right, positive identity theft?

Either way I'm going to call them as soon as I can so whoever is actually waiting for this card can get it.

Ha, not worth it just for a 430. Now, if they offer me a pair of 580's just for posting "AMD sux" I'd be all over that

I used to work at Circuit City in Minnesota and one time I had the repair depot send me the wrong customer's laptop. Both were high end Toshiba Qosmios, but the other customer had taken his laptop to a CC on the east coast. It took 1 call and less than 3 hours for them to have a courier pick up the wrong one, but another 2 weeks and 25 calls to get the right one back.

It's worth noting that Zotac is owned by PC Partner as a sub-brand. They own another brand for AMD cards, but heck if I can remember who it is right now. So you may have ended up in their system for interacting with PC Partner or their AMD brand.

Its good that you are going to try and get the video card to the 'hopefully' right person.

Send an application to the nvidia focus group.

I wonder how many people really have tried to get in focus? You can be sure there are many people with the mentality: "Free gear, i'll say anything you want."

I don't think I would stop at just checking your credit card... I think at this point you might look at getting your credit reports... make sure nobody has opened another account in your name.... It sounds a little more than fishy if you've never purchased a Zotac card before.

PC partners is affiliated with Sapphire. That's the AMD brand you were trying to remember.
