Hi,

I need help putting together my first gaming laptop, I decided to go with Mythological because of its good reputation that I keep hearing about. I dont know much about hardware so I am here looking for help putting it together for me, Im not sure what to pick based on what I need.

The games I want to be able to play on max settings are Dota 2, FFXIV a realm reborn, Civ5, Diablo 3, Path of Exile

Mythological website: https://www.mythlogic.com/mobile.php
Im interested in a 17" model and my budget is as low as possible to be able to play those games on max settings. Also I will be hooking it up to a Dell ultrasharp2412

let me know if you need any other info, and thank for your help.

ffxiv is probably the most intensive in that list and recommends a desktop gtx 660 or 7950
civ 5 benefits significantly from a quadcore cpu.

you'll want to spec a quadcore i7 and the highest end gpu configuration you can afford.
the i7 4700mq is the cheapest i7 they sell and should be sufficient.
the 8970m or 780gtx would be optimum, but a gtx 770m should work also.
the 765m is enough for high settings at 1080p but not for max. If you're going to game on the u2412 it's a 1920x1200 display, so games will run ~10% lower fps than on a 1920x1080.
2x4gb of ram is standard, which is fine.

the cheapest option for max settings from mythlogic is the MYTHLOGIC Pollux 1513 (15") with 770m and i7 4700mq for ~1450

if you want the 17" version with i7 4700mq and 770m, it's ~1620. The gpu can be upgraded to the 8970m for $55. The 8970m would be a good bump in graphics power.

I don't think AMD's enduro hybrid graphics tech is quite up to NVIDIA's optimus yet, but it's supposed to be pretty close.

xoticpc has a nice selection of gaming notebooks. There are many companies using sager/clevo notebook platforms.

there're some gtx 680m versions for ~1.5k after coupon

Obviously a MUCH better desktop can be purchased for around $1k. So, be sure that you really want a desktop replacement notebook before buying one.
