MythTV or Freevo?

I have not even chosen the hardware I want yet, so feel free to chime in with any recommendations. This PVR box is also going to be a simple file server for backing up data. I'm going with Linux so I don't need to purchase an OS. While I know a little about Linux, I don't know about the PVR software. Is one of these projects better supported than the other or more full featured? If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know.

Did you ever make a decision? If so, which one and how did it go? I'm leaning towards a KnoppMyth install myself, but am still about a month away from the freetime necessary to get it started.

I actually came into a DP 1.8 Ghz G5 PowerMac with something wrong with the power. I added some drives and fixed the power and I'm running smooth as ever. I haven't tackled the PVR question yet, but now I'm limited to Mac solutions. I think I am going to take the easy way out and go with a hardware solution through USB.

Cool. If you do ever get a PVR going, even if it's Mac based, I would be interested to hear what you went with.
