N. CA Fry's Ad $99- 16x write CDRW also 50pk. cdr's for $7

I saw today's Fry's ad and saw these as possible hot deals... I don't know anything about the company Que, but I figure for anybody who is looking for a cheap burner the price is good.

Que!! 16x 10x 40x cdrw $129-$30 mail in rebate ==> $99 after mail in rebate
16x speed 50 pk cdr's = $7

I might be able to write again later about quality. My friend might be buying this burner and I can compare it to my Plextor. So we shall see

What's the brand on the cdr? Are they generic?

I looked a little more into the CDRW. The company is QPS
I even looked @ Pricewatch and the cheapest listed for a 16x CDRW by QPS is $199.00

The PDF just said on selected models, however I noticed on the PDF it says burnproof on this PART#QPCDRW161040I and since it is the only 16x10x40x I can find I would assume so, but not for sure since the Fry's ad does not tell me the part #

another thing that I had seen fry's ad this morning and I didn't see
it mentioned any CD-R drive deal beside that Sony 8x4x32 for $69

I snagged one as well this morning at the Fremont Fry's...

It is indeed a Yamaha 16/10/40 Drive (yeah the one that starts burning at 12X and gradually works its way up to 16X), but at $129.99 (139.32 after CA Taxes) - $30MIR = ~$99 it was an okay deal...

But this thing is a retail package drive, comes with adaptec software (can be seen as bad by others), 10X Princo CDRW, token CDR...

The section on page 2 of here, titled Part Numbers, seems to say that the QPCDRW161040I model has Burn-Proof...

just last night I snagged one from the Frys at Santa Clara. They had 3 left and they were all hidden on the top shelves. I think this one does not have burnproof. The one that has burnproff has a big logo in flames on the package stating "Burnproof". But 16X burner for 99 bucks....SCHWEEET!

Picked one of these up this morning at Palo Alto Fry's, there was one left. Look at the end cap and it's there labeled "$179.99", but it rings as $129.99. No burnproof on the box but part # is the same as above.
