so naturally he should spend the rest of his nature life in jail. A fine and probation is all this deserves

Not in disagreement with you.

Wait, there's no one hear who thinks he should be charged as a terrorist, right?

And there's no one who thinks he should be let go with a stern warning either...

P&N may have reached a consensus on something!

yeah, finally!
i mean, he is a dumb guy. and sort of slimy for blaming his kid at first. but cant they just charge him with something standard like wreckless endangerment or some other obscure but legitimate complaint. why bust out the big guns on this guy? if you want to make an example of someone, you should probably go ahead and make an example of an actual terrorist.

This guy shouldn't be charged as a terrorist. If this guy wanted to take down the plane, he would put bombs on the plane or shoot it down. If any one hasn't heard lately, airport security is grade A crap. This guy must have superb accuracy if he can aim a laser beam and shine it to the pilots.:Q Seriously, people need to grow a plant called common sense. Communist in the 50's, terrorism today. Boy, times have changed.:disgust:

Who can believe this BS: guy points laser beam at sky and he not only hits an airplane, no he even hits exactly the cockpit. And not only that - he even manages to hit Pilot and Copilot in the eye. Obviously he must have been able to track an object moving a 500mph at several hundred meters (maybe kilometers) distance and hit multiple tiny targets (4eyes). Maybe the Pentagon should hire him as targeting computer of this airborne laser.
Ridiculous

"So, Bubba, what are you in here for?"
"I choked a man to death with my bare hands for selling me some bad drugs. I'm in for 15 years. What'd you do?"
"I aimed a laser pointer at a jet and a helicopter. I'm in for 20 years for that, plus 10 more for lying to investigators."

i think they are taking this a bit far. sure charge the guy for being a DUMBASS, but i find 20 years to be a bit much. A few months is enough to make him lose his job, his daughter, and his house if he has one. i'm sure that would be plenty.

I agree with you. I've used these lasers a lot before and I really question whether a laser of that minimal power could blind anyone, leave alone a pilot flying an aircraft. It's a wonder that he could even paint the skin of the bird with it. It would be like trying to use a 1000 mm lens without a tripod. This sounds like a panic reaction that will cost all parties bunches of legal money and then be thrown out - as it should be.

I can relate.

When I was in with Murderers, one guy bragged how he stabbed then slashed the throat of a guy.

When they came around to me and I said I was facing 120 years and $815,000 in fines, they immediately thought I was a serial killer that caused a lot of damage in my rampage. They stepped back as much as the chains connecting us would allow.

When I said I put a Screensaver on the Computer they got very quiet and their jaws dropped.

They asked what was it, did it crash the Government or something or Pornographic?

Dave, that was stupid of Gerogia. I'm glad to be retired because of the risk in IT these days. We had a guy that put a whole net on wireless and nearly went to jail. What he did was stupid, but didn't warrant the penalty either.
