i guess its probably for the best that way, now we don't have to make a descision on whether or not to shoot it down. Kinda wonder where it was aimed at, or whats its range is if it ever works.

Now it turns out they launched 3 missiles. One of them the Type of Dong II. The long-range T2 failed in flight.

U.S. official: North Korea tests long-range missile
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- North Korea launched a long-range Taepodong-2 missile early Wednesday in an apparently unsuccessful test that failed in flight, a senior State Department official said.

North Korea also tested at least two smaller missiles, U.S. sources told CNN.

Both missiles were launched from a site other than the one intelligence officials have watched for weeks ahead of the long-range missile test, a senior State Department official said.

Hey, Vegitto, who puts bush in line? Or is he allowed to do whatever he likes just because he has the most powerful military? And if so, what does that REALLY say about America?

I'm not an American, and I hate Bush. But even I can clearly see that MY nation doesn't have the firepower (let alone the guts) to put the fscker in line, so I'm leaving you guys to do the dirty work .

7-4-2006 North Korea fires Weapons of Mass Destruction

North Korea launched a long-range missile Wednesday that may be capable of reaching the United States but it failed after 35 or 40 seconds, two State Department officials said.

The missile was one of at least three that were fired. The two others were short-range missiles. All landed in the Sea of Japan.

"North Korea has gone ahead with the launch despite international protest," Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe said. "That is regrettable from the standpoint of Japan's security, the stability of international society, and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction."

Our space shuttles disentigrates due to a piece of foam that fell off, those NKs are lame huh?

NK is trying to get to the adult table the only way possible, get nukes. It worked for us and all the other countries, what incentive do they have to not build them? Are we going to invade NK? LOL.

A State Department official in Washington told Reuters a long-range missile, believed to be a Taepodong 2, failed 40 seconds after it was launched.

Don't compare to the space shuttle, that's lame.

So many NK-sympathisers. NK joining the 'adult table?' please. You must not know how atrociously NK treats its citizens. They make China look humane. So many defend Kim Jong Ill... so many seem to love NK and hate America.

You are an example of why self-proclaimed so-called liberals get pegged with disliking their home country (ie, America)

Nearly every chance you get you post something that takes a position in defense of anything in opposition to the US, or deriding anything that might be positive for or about the US.

It's really pathetic

Invasion of NK is not gonna happen. Perhaps it should happen, but too much is at stake in attempting it.

The part that's true is the part about NK (and other countries) attempting to get nukes because it gives them more of an even playing field with the world super-powers and ensures they won't be invaded by the U.S. I mean look at India and Pakistan who both went nuclear in recent years and look at the U.S. falling over itself to improve relations.

So there's nothing inherently "anti-American" about looking at the reality of what's going on and the sort of mindset you have in NK and Iran. In fact, I'd say you'd be remiss not to try and assess what motivates these countries to do what they do.

India IS a damn good ally of the U.S., and at least Pakistan pretends to be... that's more than I can say for most of world's "civilized nations." *cough*Europe*cough*...

The events seem to illustrate that we tend not to wontonly attack countries that have nukes, unlike Iraq. Unfortunately, all the pre-launch rhetoric makes us look like asses, not that we don't already, but you get the point.
