I don't know why the announcers are stunned that Roger is losing this bad, that they are befuddled that he is way off his game. It's not that.

It's just that Nadal is SOOO much better on clay than anyone else in this world.
Wake up Mac and Mary- Roger is great, but only pedestrian on this surface.

You need to crank your own neck a few degrees beyond spec to figure this one?

There is no doubt Nadal owns Federer on clay but to say Fed is pedestrian on clay is wrong considering he has made the French final 3 straight years...

Federer is probably the greatest player ever. Nadal is just the guy that can beat him on clay. That's a feat, but clay is not the typical surface for most players.

Federer has a history of starting slow. Beating him early is not uncommon. Finishing him is where most players fail as no one holds on better and never quits, and that's why they generally lose in the end.

Don't worry, I'm lost too.

The closest names I know to those in the title are Nader and K. Fed.

This is Nadal on clay. Federer doesn't stand a chance of coming back.

Now that would be some match!

After a beating like that, it'll be interesting to see how Federer fares against Nadal at Wimbelton. Granted grass is a much different surface, but I'm thinking he's unlikely to make it six in a row.

Nadal played great, Federer did not. Roger was dumping lots of shots into the net, he was pressing because Nadal really looked unbeatable. Fed tried to get to net but Nadal consistently passed him easily. Nadal looked really really good, he was making unbelievable shots.

Wonder how Federer will do at Wimbledon. Not too long ago there was no doubt that he'd crush the record for # majors won, now it is not so sure with Nadal, and Djokovic, playing well and showing Fed can be beaten.

If you played any kind of competitive tennis people would realize that Federer in any other time period would probably have at least 1 french open title to his name if not more. He is that good a clay courter although it doesn't show today (he looked really slow and sluggish today). He just happens to have run into the greatest clay courter of all time.

As long as Nadal is still playing, no one is ever going to win French who isn't named Rafael Nadal.
