Nalgene bottles (widemouth 1L) of various colors at Powell's Bookstore in Portland as of Wednesday 6/16

$5 only! usually 8-9 bucks

Absolutely. They're Lexan, which doesn't keep odors, etc., and are HIGHLY impact resistant. When backpacking, they're THE water bottle to take (and Lexan gear in general for silverware, plate if you use one, etc.....or go with titanium ).

heh, my friend ran over his with a Mitsubishi Montero..... It didn't break! I've always had mine for Cross Country and have never saw one break. Its amazing!

Actually the ones I saw were plain Nalgene bottles, no witty nutritional facts, etc.

 

They actually can break. If you drop them at a weird angle sometimes they will shatter. its really uncommon, but it does happen.

actually for campers these things are awsome. not because of how they wear, but because they dont take on a smell like other liquid containers. I've had nalgene bottles for what seems like forever now and these things are the best

nalgene bottles are the bomb. I buy Nalgene as opposed to Eddie Bauer or any of the other knock-offs just because they were the ones who pioneered this awesome bottles. I have an assortment of the other containers as well hehe.

I've broken one... their best use is hiking through the mountains... throw jello mix and water into it, tie a rock and let it dangle from a string into a cold pond... very nice treat after a long day hiking....

How r they for protein mixes? My bottles always smell after I drink the protein..

They are great for protein shakes, ive used one for them many times. GREAT BOTTLES!
