I'll settle for mass scale implementation of inductive charging tech that doesn't cause us to grow three testicles or make our hair fall out.

I'm talking full EV cars with a charge pad you throw on the floor of your garage and drive over. Or EV charge pads built into parking stalls/street side spots that you pay a per hour rate to charge at while you work or shop.

Or at the very least, mass rollout of passive charging to portable devices like laptops, tablets, cell phones, ect without needing some goofy cradle you have to wrap the device in.

i read a (terrible) science fiction book where they had such a thing. the energy machine had 3 stages.

stage 1 used item A for energy. the left over stuff was item B +pure water.
stage 2 used Item b for energy and left over Item C + oxygen
stage 3 used Item c for energy and left over Item A + a goo..(cant remember what it was called)

The goo could go in a machine that used it to make anything from food to solid objects.

while the story was terrible the energy production stuck in my head.

We pretty much need technology to compensate for all the dwindling planetary resources. More powerful, clean energy, more water and more food. Then we need to find a safe and quick way out of this solar system. The rest will take care of itself (alien hookers and intergalactic blow).
