The Dagger of Amon Ra.

There is a question/puzzle at the end that I've never been able to figure out.
And on top of that, you have to answer in hryoglyphics. (spelling?)

It was an awesome game. You play as a journalist that gets locked in a museum followed by alot of murders. The whole setting and atmosphere was downright spooky. It's a detective/puzzle/roleplay dos game. Very old. And alot of fun.

EDIT: OK...I just read the entire thread. Does anyone even remember this game? If you used the invincibility cheat (hold start button on controller 2 when starting the game) the game was awesome, but without it there was NO way in hell you could beat it.

YES I remember this game, I've been meaning to bring it up! For being impossible ti was a pretty fun game I thought. ALthough I must admit I had to use the invincibility code to appreciate it. I recall that it had an interactive ending, meaning you could use the buttons ont he control pad to make the guys in the spaceship wave

Ninja Gaiden for Xbox

Too hard and I give up easily.

Far Cry is hard but I cheated though it (god mode) and won.

I could not beat Shinobi for the PS2. I made it to the last guy but that SOB just wouldnt die! IT also takes like 15 mins to get to him. I played it enough where the effort outweighed the enjoyment and sold it.

LOL

I am remembering more as I go through all these posts! Zelda: Ocarina of Time on N64 I made it to a part with the well/some dungeon. Was all on an emu and lost intrest. Ghouls and Ghost on snes, same problem, 'you need a magic braclet' fvck that! Im DONE. Red Faction 2 last boss was hella hard but I did beat that one. Never beat Metroid legit either, went through it recently, got to the metroids but I didnt have the ice beam. Original Zelda and Zelda 2 for nes. Last level of farcry was a bitch to get though, once you make it to the downed helicopter witht the macine gun though youve made it. Did spy hunter even have an end? Brave fencer musashi, somthing about a wind part that I could not get past, thinking about that rekindles my rage! I am proud to say that I beat mission impossible! The person working in the store told me he couldnt beat it and at the time I was like 8 so I busted my balls trying to beat it and I did! Then I went back and rubbed it in his face! Pretty good for an 8 year old! Ikari Warriors, I remember that one, you get to the end and nothing happens, shoot at the wall thats it.. what a fvcking reward! Russian attack was impossible, even with game genie codes. Is it rush N attack or russian?
Reading some of the controller throwing/biting posts make me laugh. The anger and frustraion that makes a young boy throw or bite a controller has got to be pretty high. One time my brother jammed a snes conroller through a tv screen while we were playing street fighter 2. Guess I jab kicked him in the corner once too often. Mega man x was rough at the end but I did beat that one. Fuggin games with multiple boss fights! Actraiser 2. Such a departure from the original, I liked building towns with a bare butted cherub!

Eternal Darkness for Gamecube: this big guy coming from the floor was impossible.
Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness for PS2: can't get around these lasers in this hallway.
Shenmue II for Xbox: Xbox died on me.
TMNT for NES: never owned the game. Have Rom, but feel awkward playing with keyboard.
Punch-Out for NES: Mr. Dream is Uber difficult.
Legend of Zelda: Link to the past for SNES: too much like ocrina of time to bother with.
Legend of Zelda for NES: freakin catridge memory kept getting lost.
Abes' Oddysee for PSX: couldn't find a dude to rescue.
Quake II expansions for PC: the game wasn't good enough to endure the bugs.
Star Craft for PC: Eh, didn't feel like playing with other races.
Final Fantasy 8 for PSX: As if I was gonna search the entire ocean for a stupid ship.
Final Fantasy III for SNES: never owned it, but borrowed it and it was great.
Batman for NES: not even with game genie, could I beat Joker.
Batman Forever for Gamegear: couldn't get past the circus.
Sonic the Hedgehog for Gamgear: couldn't get past this level with really far jump.
Surf Ninjas for Gamegear: don't remember beating it.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 for Sega Genesis: Stupid casino.
Mario: Lost levels for SNES or gameboy: all I remember is a really high wall.
Back to the future for NES: I did beat it with the help of saving from an emulator, but would never be able to beat it otherwise. The ending sucks ass. It's akin to "THE END."
Rainbow Six for PC: I don't remember.
Stupid Invaders for Dreamcast: HARD.
Dracula Unleashed for PC/Mac/Sega CD: used walkthrough, too hard, waste of time to just guess your way to the ending.
Sonic CD for Sega CD: Don't remember beating it, but it is one of the coolest sonic games evar.
Private Detective for 3DO: It was confusing. didn't understand last level. But cool game though.
Clock Tower 3 for PS2: Cool game and freaky, although not as freaky as silent hill, but just took a break and got interested in something else.
GTA: VC for PC: After the missions, it gets boring. I didn't feel like doing stupid jobs to buy useless buildings. They don't tell you the useful ones, so I'd be wasting money for nothin.
Wayne Gretzky Hockey for N64: Last 2nd last team, had to return rented game.
Lamborghini 64 for N64: Sucked. Second half of the game is unfair.
Luigi's Masion for GC: Awsome game, but never finished because I was borrowing it.

I know there is more, but it's getting too hard to remember now and the list is getting big.

You guys are going to laugh. Doom 2. I could not figure out how the heck to finish that very last level where the demons kept coming at you. Eventually I got fed up and moved on.

Damnit I got close to finishing that but it was a rental and I had to return it. THen I kept procrastinating renting it again because I was so close that I didn't want to waste a rental on it... no I regret that and I've since deleted the memory block so I'd have to start over.... awsome gme though. Might just do it someday.

Minesweeper at Expert difficulty

That's mostely just tons of trial and error as most of the randomly generated minefields can't be solved without guessing in at least a few places.

Oh cmon if you gotta guess at that game then you need to learn how to DEDUCE. My record time is 112 seconds, while my friend managed to get 94 seconds.

Another impossible game, if anybody else has ever played it, was Chip's Challenge.

I know exactly how to play it and you can uncover the VAST majority of the board on expert without having to guess even once. However there are usually one or two tiles left at the end where you are not given enough information to tell between the two, hence you have to guess at these ones.

Oh, and Back to the Future for the NES. I never got past the 2nd Diner I think

I thought I was the only one. I would get to the same point and I was kicking some major tail shooting out those shakes and it kept getting faster and faster. What I think is that there is no game beyond this point and they made it so difficult that no one could get past this point .

GTA: VC. Not that I didn't want to but rather that I couldn't due to poor porting. An essential mission would not work properly on the PC. For some people it did, I'll try again some day.

final fantasy 3 for snes is only game i ever played through completely, i.e. every secret/weapon/maxed everything.

Went back to it some years later and had a lot of fun, but damn, no way i could master the game again. I must've spent half a lifetime on that game

and in super mario world for snes, i couldn't get the secret under butter bridge..i think that's what it's called.

i got everything else though..::shrug::

One of my fav's. On the second last level you had to get the egg thing and get down to the door before it closed, then you played the A/B levels and finally get to the end boss to get the true ending

I poped in mike tysons punchout yesterday and gave it another go. I didn't even make it to tyson couldn't get past soda popinski

Onimusha 3. For some reason, I can't beat the 3 headed dog the second time around with Samanosuke.

Every single game that I play I beat, I don't buy a new one till I finish the one I'm playing.
