i dont think you will ever understand how little music actually has to do with the human psyche...

Your emotional detachment is obvious. Not liking music isn't a quirk, it is a serious issue and it is apparent you don’t grasp the seriousness.

It's really not serious, I'm a very emotional person, very emotionally attached, not liking at art form means nothing serious.

I spend a lot of money on other art, but music as an Art form means nothing to me, just like I don't really like sculpture....

When I'm getting undressed, I MUST take my shirt, pants, and socks off in such a way that they don't turn inside out. I can't just pull my shirt off, I have to pull from the neck area so it stays right side out.

If I'm eating M&Ms or something similar, I keep a rough mental count of how many I'm chewing on one side and then try to have the same amount on the other side of my mouth. So if I grab three M&Ms and chew them on the left, I'll then chew three on the right (or four, and then one more on the left). Or I'll divide the number in half in my mouth and send each half to one side.

When I adjust the volume on my car radio, I like to set it to even numbers or multiples of five.

I have an odd finger and fingernail thing where I like rubbing pieces of paper or soft fabric between my fingers and sticking things under my nail like paper or hair or anything thin. I often find myself playing with my own hair. Can't really explain why.

I've got one OCD ritual.

any time I'm leaving somewhere (my house, a friend's house, a restaurant, my office, etc) I check to make sure I have my wallet, cellphone, and keys on me.

always, and always in that order. and if I don't physically touch each one, I feel anxiety about it even if I can feel my keys pressing into my thigh or I'm listening to music on my cellphone.

So where do you draw the line between "quirk" and batshit crazy OCD...

My batshit crazy OCD: If I use soap when washing my hands, I have to rinse for at least a minute. It's not about washing the crap that was on my hands off before the soap, it's about getting the soap off.

When driving, I have to check my blindspot, and look behind me even if I'm on a deserted road.

When I play a first person shooter on the console, I have to use Look Inversion (pushing down on the look makes it look up and vice versa). But when I'm playing a f.p.s. on a PC, I don't use it.

I do the exact same thing.

I refresh ATOT. All day, every day. Every minute or two. Else I might miss something.

My life is sad.

Inversion makes sense with a joystick more than a mouse. If you look at the joystick like a head, pulling down is like pulling the neck back which makes you look up.

My quirk is that I'm always fixing people's TV/Audio setup without them asking me to do it.

Also, on clear nights, I always walk while looking up at the sky.

This was me until a few years ago. I don't think it's that weird; control sticks are different from mouse tracking. But a friend of mine did actually play with an inverted mouse in FPSs. Very weird.

I switched from inverted to non-inverted thumbsticks in the blink of an eye. No idea how it happened, it just did. I thought those things were kind of hard-coded (I played a lot of flight games as a kid) but apparently not.

Hmm I always check but the order doesn't matter to me. They just have to be there.

Lol I do the same thing, in the same order. I do it twice, once before I walk out the door, and once when I get into the car, because I still have the feeling I'm forgetting something.

Leg tapping is a big one for me... I do it non stop all day long... and never even think about it. When I have my headphones on at my desk I get it going really bad and my coworkers get annoyed.

Look Inversion made perfect sense as soon as I played a single game of Mechwarrior. My torso moved the way of the stick, to look up I lean back!

[edit] Oh thought of another OCD thing I do: I *must* recheck to see if my alarm is set (and I mean going as far as making sure the time of the alarm is right... even though it NEVER changes). I do this periodically while I lay in bed (I even recheck at say... 3 am if I wake up for whatever reason).

My little OCD type quirk is pretty boring, but it's actually sort of time consuming and annoying to deal with. After conditioning my hair, I'll spend an excessive amount of time making sure every last trace of the conditioner is out of my hair. I'll keep rinsing and rinsing, sometimes for maybe 10 minutes to make sure it's entirely out. If I don't have time to get it all out, or if I feel like I missed a spot I feel anxious about it. Sucks, since I have such thick hair. I'm so weird.

I set my alarm before I go to sleep. About 15 minutes later, while I'm lying in bed, I get the sudden urge to make sure I set it so I have to check it again.

I can't sit still for more than about 3 minutes without moving or doing something.

I turn off all lights except the minimum to see whatever it is I need to see. Usually my house only has the front exterior light on, and no other lights unless I'm painting, building something, or cooking, or doing something that really needs the light.

I do that if it is a single-use alarm. And I usually wake up a minute or two before the alarm goes off too. I rarely do single-use alarms anymore though.
