My little OCD type quirk is pretty boring, but it's actually sort of time consuming and annoying to deal with. After conditioning my hair, I'll spend an excessive amount of time making sure every last trace of the conditioner is out of my hair. I'll keep rinsing and rinsing, sometimes for maybe 10 minutes to make sure it's entirely out. If I don't have time to get it all out, or if I feel like I missed a spot I feel anxious about it. Sucks, since I have such thick hair. I'm so weird.

get a $20 pair of clippers and keep it short

I'm constantly reciting pi in my head out to 15 digits or so. 3.141592653589793238462643383273.141592653589793238462643383273.141592653589793238462643383273.14159265358979323846264338327 etc

I can also wiggle my ears independently.

I must check the stove before I leave and physically move the knobs to feel the click. I have to do it a few times or it doesn't feel right.
I check the door at night that its locked several times. I often go out to my car to make sure it stayed locked.
I continuously figure my fuel economy in my car. I know exactly how far I have and how far I can push it.
I never let a circuit board out of my area into production without repeated checks.
Nothing can have (13) in it, be it the TV volume or car volume, or the total of the goods I'm about to buy (I figure the tax - it gets rough going grocery shopping and often I'm wrong cuz its hard to keep track of 100 items and whether or not its taxable). But it can't have a (13) anywhere in it. In fact those 2 numbers I just wrote are difficult to deal with but I'm having a go. I might edit them.
(I have diagnosed OCD - it actually helps some in the IT and electronics fields)
I continuously talk (but never answer) to myself. Probably because of all the pi going on in my head.

I think you won the thread.

I've got one OCD ritual.

any time I'm leaving somewhere (my house, a friend's house, a restaurant, my office, etc) I check to make sure I have my wallet, cellphone, and keys on me.

always, and always in that order. and if I don't physically touch each one, I feel anxiety about it even if I can feel my keys pressing into my thigh or I'm listening to music on my cellphone.

It seems a lot of us do this. I've always wondered what I looked like when doing this, patting myself three times in three different areas. Forgetting one of those items for any long period of time makes me feel like I'm missing my right shoe or something.

I am constantly checking my car to make sure I am in neutral or first gear. I'll be close to stopping so I shift it into neutral, but I almost always wiggle the shift lever once more to check. And when I'm stopped at a light, I check to see that it's in first a few times before I start. There have been a couple times when I didn't shift into first and tried to start so I guess there's a reason for this.

Also, when I take a shower, if I close my eyes, I must wipe them off before I open them. Every time, no matter how long they were closed, even if they didn't get wet.

It's really not serious, I'm a very emotional person, very emotionally attached, not liking at art form means nothing serious.

I spend a lot of money on other art, but music as an Art form means nothing to me, just like I don't really like sculpture....

Maybe you just haven't found the right kind of music yet. Try this.

If I change the volume in my truck it has to be an even number or else I can't focus.

I wear jeans on a daily basis (university student). The few times I wear dress pants I virtually always forget to do up the fly until right before I leave the house. I guess I'm so used to putting on my jeans which requires two actions, button and fly, that the additional action of sliding the hook into the catch makes me forget about doing up the fly.

I often can't sit still, shake my legs almost constantly while sitting. This has gotten slightly better but it happens so much I don't even realize it until someone mentions that I'm shaking the entire table etc.

I also talk to myself when I'm home alone, about weird stuff to. I make comments to characters in tv shows and ask things like "why did they do that" or "what do they think is going to happen" when nobody is in the room with me. I actually make a lot of random comments to the air when watching movies/playing games.

I hate it when people speak loudly at banks

I love oranges, but hate the smell

I hate banana flavoured anything, but love bananas

I hate HATE strawberries, but love strawberry chapstick

When I'm nervous or uncomfortable, I twitch - really badly. My family and close friends are used to it and ignore it, when I'm on the bus and a stranger sits next to me, everyone stairs at my like Im either physically handicapped, or like I'm having a fit.

Tea bag, sugar milk AND THEN hot water. Anything else is wrong.

Other than that, nothing really.

because Music is what makes Humans human...

I like some music but not much. I like some classical music and a smattering of pop songs here and there. However is say I don't like a good 99 percent or more of the music out there. I also don't listen to music very often by myself, almost never.

When going to talk with someone I like to open with current events or something in the news. So I go over in my mind the recent news I've heard. For some reason the phrases "there was an explosion down at xxx" or "they killed xxx" where xxx is a place or person always comes up in my head. Probably because this is the kind OS sensationalist story I'm looking to open with. But it's really just a piece of ocd that I can't stop.

I quirk.

It's not that I mean to quirk. It just happens. I'll be sitting there doing nothing in particular, and suddenly QUIRK!

The other day it was awful. Some poor lady was reading a newspaper, minding her own business, and for no reason I can understand, I suddenly quirked all over her. It was embarrassing, to say the least.

I'm not sure if this qualifies, but when telling someone the time I always give the exact minute.

I make little explosion noises under my breath when I turn lights on or off.

When I'm getting undressed, I MUST take my shirt, pants, and socks off in such a way that they don't turn inside out. I can't just pull my shirt off, I have to pull from the neck area so it stays right side out.

If I'm eating M&Ms or something similar, I keep a rough mental count of how many I'm chewing on one side and then try to have the same amount on the other side of my mouth. So if I grab three M&Ms and chew them on the left, I'll then chew three on the right (or four, and then one more on the left). Or I'll divide the number in half in my mouth and send each half to one side.

I also talk to myself when I'm home alone, about weird stuff too. I make comments to characters in tv shows and ask things like "why did they do that" or "what do they think is going to happen" when nobody is in the room with me. Me too. Maybe that's why I'm kinda comfortable here at ATOT?

Mine is "purse, keys, phone". I have to be holding all three in that order and touching the door knob before I close the door. If I forget to lock the door - and I always go back to check - I have to do the thing over again.

This ruins shirts. Makes the back of the neck, especially on Ts all stretched out.

It's also better to wash your clothes inside out.

I also do the leg thing but that is probably made a lot worse by the Paxil I take. It's an SSRI and fidgeting is one of the side effects.

When I'm walking sometimes I'll move my tongue side to side in my mouth (mouth closed) right to left synchronized with my legs. Or sometimes I'll do the same with my toes.
