what does that have to do with them being underrated? they've been award nominees and winners more than a couple times. EVERYONE knows who they are. you've got to be a fvcking idiot or live under a rock to think they're underrated.

might as well say robert redford is underrated because he hasn't been in anything recently... or how about anthony hopkins... oh, i know... sidney poitier. he's GOT to be underrated because he hasn't been in anything for a while.

He didn't even want to do Italian Job, but he owed the label 1 more movie. He hated the script and didnt want in. Rounders, all though it has been a while, was trash imo. Fight Club was his best performance.

I hate the crap out of Leonardo Dicaprio, but after seeing movies like What's eating gilbert grape, etc.
The kid can act and gets ****** publicity for his cocky attitude.

Good but people think are bad:

Mark Hamill

Good actors who are extremely popular but yet never seem to get acknowledged for acting skill:
George Clooney (well, before this year's nom for best supporting actor anyway)
Antonio Banderas
Amanda Peet
Sean Combs (admittedly has few roles, but was great in all of them)
Brad Pitt

You definitely need to see American History X then...also 25th Hour. Great movies. Easily his best performance was in American History X. You'll have a wide range of emotions concerning his character in that movie...something most characters in movies don't do.

Daniel Day Lewis, is not really underrated...he chooses wisely...very quiet and out of the eye of the mainstream...has won oscars...however...i think he is one of the most talented out there.... Watch Gangs of NY...

Also, Jeoffrey Rush..is quite talented.

That's correct, brad pitt is not generally regarded for his acting ability, although he was nominated for an oscar I believe.

Chris Cooper is no longer underrated though. Won an oscar and all.

I personally like John Travolta. I know he's well known, but there seems to be a lot of negativity about him.
He was able to accurately convey a roles of good and evil in Face Off.
He can be a good father in Look who's talking, or he can be a gangster in Swordfish or Pulp Fiction.
I find that even his performance in battlefield earth was a good one.
