Oh, just something good that has happened. Maybe something that qualifies as the best thing to happen to you lately.

For me id have to say when i bought my IPOD (shiver) i could die for that one.
Going to buy a car soon though, so that will be the best.

I got a raise, then was promoted, then I was told I'm getting another raise in December. Also got married last month. Pretty good time for me.

Two weeks ago I had a cornea transplant, today I can see 20/40 uncorrected whereas I was 20/80 or so corrected before. My post op uncorrected vision is every bit the equal, if not better than my corrected vision in my former "good" eye.

 for organ donors.

money on the floor. 1000 EUR

Btw Viper. regarding the Cornea transplant, could you see before that with your own cornea? if so, why not go for LASIK or PRK?

What were your fears before the transplant? Was thinking of doing something similiar to that to my eyes (Lasik) but am quite apprehensive about the negative consequences.

Lately? A professor got me a class in France, with shiney new equipment, to finish my Chem E. degree, with a scholarship to pay for it, and I used that as a jumping-off point to travel all around Europe and Madagascar for the next three months. Now I'm back in Ecuador to visit my folks, before finally heading back to Seattle in January to see if I can snag that Boeing composites research position I was semi-offered...

new job, they bought me a car (im paying it off), set me up a laptop, gave me a promotion and raise, 2 paid vacations (private island in the keys and orlando theme park) i get cheap limo service (company car) and discounts at a local bar my boss purchased

new home, just moved out of my brothers, was rough living there because they have a baby and he needed his own room, so i had to dip and it took me a while to find a good place cheap. but now im settled and im glad it all worked out, im alot closer to work, its cozy and we have a 2005 golden tee and a mame cabinet in the living room.

About six months ago, I found out that I got into my school's elementary education program, which was a relief.

Living off campus with my boyfriend has been very nice, too.

A close friend tried to kill himself by taking 130 Xanax pills, but when he was rushed to the hospital they found no trace of it in his bloodstream. I think it's going to be the turning point in giving him a reason to live.

Yes, I have a dime sized button of donor cornea stitched into the front of my eye. The cornea is just the clear coating over the front of the eye, mine was scarred beyond use. My eye remains the same color, & you can't even really see anything different. The barrier between old & new tissue reflects light so there's a bit of a visible ring but the stitches are tiny and clear (essentially invisible). I had planned to post pictures but my camera isn't good enough to see much of anything.

No, I would read with both eyes but my vision was quite poor - 20/40 corrected in my left eye, 20/80 corrected in my right. Without contacts I could improve my vision by squinting & finding a (relatively) unscarred patch to look through.

My vision still isn't great, but it's far better than it was before & once everything heals up (could take a year or more) I will likely have 20/20 vision in my right eye. I'm already far ahead of schedule, according to my surgeon most people two weeks post op are seeing somewhere between counting fingers and 20/100.

Oh good, they replace those? Mine aren't bad off, but they certainly have visible scratches, and I'd imagine it'll get quite annoying by middle age.

I think you should be able to resurface your corneas, like brake rotors, though. That would be nicer.
