I watched it. It wasn't very good, but it was far more watchable than his others.

Anyways, if you truly want to watch something disturbing, there's plenty of stuff to choose from. Just go to television shows, then select the reality TV category. There, you can watch the craziest, most assinine, idiotic, and repugnant behavior known to man. Afterwards, you realize that the majority of society acts in such a manner. If you aren't disturbed after that, then you are unable to be disturbed.

I have to say, out of all the ridiculous "reality" TV crap that I've seen other people glued to (Survivor, Big Brother, etc.), I watched Out of the Wild: The Alaska Experiment on a whim. It was really good.

The difference is, it was actually challenging. 10-15+ people get stranded in Alaska with a camera crew and some GPS devices for emergency pick-up only. They're given a substantial amount of gear to start with, and maps that point them in the direction to the next shelter. They have no idea where the final destination is or how long it will take to get there, and there's absolutely no prize for participating. It's straight-up survival.

The first few episodes were full of whining and stupidity, but after people start dropping like flies (3rd or 4th episode), it gets REALLY good.

It's actually not bad. That being said, it's about as disturbing as Cars 2 compared to Irreversible, Antichrist, Martyrs, or A Serbian Film. Philosophy of a Knife also merits mention in this topic, though at 4 hours long I've never been able to make it through the whole thing. I've heard Salo is intensely disturbing - it was considered the gold standard in this category for many years - but I've never seen it. The Guinea Pig movies are essentially fake snuff films, and also very hard to watch, but Netflix has chosen not to even stock them.

Irreversible is easily the most disturbing fictional film, and will be doubly so for women.

However...

In the documentary section you will find an innocuous-sounding little film called, Radio Bikini. Watch it to the end.

you are supposed to be confused at the beginning of Irreversible. The darkness, monochromatic palette, and "spinny camera" as you call it, are techniques used to make this happen. You are getting the correct effect. The truly disturbing part is over half way through the film.
