RIP.

I read an article in "outside" mag about the first tank crew to reach the bagdad airport. Those Marine tankers are awesome.

I was a grounpounder/grunt from '82-86, no action for me. I served honorably and am glad that young men of integrity still sign up!

Semper Fi to the fallen!

Yes, please, please, please. Whatever your political stripe, the deaths of these all too young Americans is a sadness and a tragedy, purely on the human scale.

Policy, it's rightness or wrongness, can be debated elsewhere; specifically in every other single thread on this wide ranging windbag of a forum.

But here, let us not let go unremarked nor unremembered the sacrifice of these sons and daughters of the United States of America, who gave their "last full measure of devotion" for their country.

I have always been a supporter of the troops, just not the civilian leadership who sent them into Iraq.

What I would like to see is a list containing all the names of those who died. Every one. List them as troops, terrorists and civilians. Every death. Let Americans get a sense for the scale of war. We need the perspective. War is a video or football game. There is no horror of war.

The greatest good would come of their deaths if all sides looked at the cost and thought it too great. Other means would be found to deal with differences.

I know humans are killers at heart, but thoughtfullness and good will could go a long way towards mitigating it. I hope for some of that to prevail

WARNING SARCASM:

Americans are more important than everybody else. All that matters is american deaths, so therefore we should beat into people's brains the names of all these Americans who have died. God bless America, God don't bless Iraq.
