Wow, very eerie to see names of buildings, roads, and camps that I've frequented all in a list of Dead, alongside one soldier from my company. If you cant figure it out, having things named after you over here in Afghanistan is not a good thing at all.
Thanks for your service, TallBill, and please keep yourself safe.

I second that!

As a reminder that there are soldiers deployed overseas in more than one location but more importantly, to remember and pay respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of freedom.

The preposition "in Afghanistan" is a little misleading as these are troops that died in support of Operation Enduring Freedom or while serving with the International Security Assistance Force meaning some may have actually died in places as far off as the Persian Gulf or the Philippines.

Here's the list in chronological order. If you see an error, let me know and I'll fix it.

October 2001

Spc. Jonn J. Edmunds

20
Company B, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment
Cheyenne, Wyoming,
Killed when the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter he was in crashed in Pakistan on October 19, 2001

Pfc. Kristofor Stonesifer

28
Company B, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment
Missoula, Montana
Killed in the accidental crash of a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter in Pakistan on October 19, 2001

Master Sgt. Evander Earl Andrews

36
366th Civil Engineer Squadron

Andrews was killed in a heavy equipment accident near Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, on October 10, 2001, the first death in Operation Enduring Freedom.

The rules for this thread are the same as for our other Names of the Dead thread. Remember, the battle in Afghanistan is also continuing. Please respect those who have fallen on in service to our nation and those nations who serve with us.

We may try to integrate the two threads, later, but that it may be difficult to do.
