The primary market is research labs at universities, not hobbiests. Robots are expensive. I don't even want to know what a PR-2 costs, and people (robotics labs, anyway) are lining up to get them.

That PR-2 looks awesome. Dual 8-core Xeons w/24 GB of RAM each. Pretty impressive tool set as well. Also noticed that the Nao is running Willow Garage's ROS operating system.
