Naps at work?

I've been advocating a midday nap for years. It's pretty obvious that it's beneficial. Luckily i've lived 10 minutes away from work for about 2 years. So on those days when I feel especially sluggish, I can go home and take a quick nap, and then face the afternoon refreshed. That's the only good thing to come out of the useless 1 hour lunch that I have to take. It's never taken me longer than 30 minutes to eat lunch.

It's very common in Spain and yeah, I'd agree that it should be adopted. It's change in lifestyle and really makes the whole day more relaxing, you can get the same amount of work done as well.

Oh, I always come to work rested enough to work the entire day. I'd just be a lot more productive if I could take a nap at around 2 PM -- I could have slept for 3 hours or 12 hours the night before, but I am *always* on the brink of falling asleep at 2 PM.

The time between 1:30pm and 3:00pm are hellish for me. Large lunches make it worse, but small (or no) lunch doesn't help it by much.

My afternoon break is normally spent in power nap mode.


I have always wondered what I am actually supposed to do with a 15 minute break now that I don't smoke. The afternoon power nap works for me.

Sometimes, I go to my car to nap. However, now that the weather is warmer, it's hard to do that in a car.

When I worked in the corporate world in the 90's we had a bunch of Chinese engineers visit us and they asked us where the nap area was? we had no idea what they meant and thought they were confused with English. Turned out when our guys went there they had rooms for taking naps. When they got back we were informed we could take naps.

haha, i say restrict how much someone eats!

i know here at my work, i have to limit some of my co-workers portion just so they don't fall asleep when they get back to work!
