To those who doubt me about Bearshare, Audio Galaxy, and iMesh and others being spyware:

Thanks for taking the time to share the great info marschw. I mostly use Morpheus and occasionally Audio Galaxy and Limewire (slow search and downloads for me). I found and removed the nasty webhancer stuff using Ad-Aware and Audio Galaxy still works fine.

I need to check out eDonkey! A new one to me.

One thing I am looking for is a way to download user created courses for Links 2001. It used to be easy from FilePlanet but now they want $6.95 a month, just not worth it for me. Anyone had any luck finding a decent place to download these courses? Thanks!

audiogalaxy.com works wonderfully for mp3's
imesh kinda sucks as does bearshare and kazaa for mp3's

Tried WinMX & Morpheus. WinMX was much better, IMO. Just my experiences w/ the two.

Gnutella didn't even make the cut. Pfftp.

I have over 2000 files from Napster ( which I love ) and I am about ready to resume with another site. It's great hearing what everyone has to say. Especially about the SPYWARE. Those sneaks! I'll be sure to download AdAware first.

I fooled around with Limewire for a week until an innocent sounding EXE file tried to introduce a nasty trojan horse virus into my computer. Thankfully I was running Norton Anti-virus and it stopped this.
