Season 1 is one of the best shows I've ever watched, so I'm hoping season 2 is as well. Everything about it is just done so well. It feels so authentic and I'm so glad that when they are in Columbia they pretty much only speak spanish. The acting, sets, everything just feels so authentic.
Yeah, it looked great, just didn't have the energy for it. And this will come out wrong, but it's probably because it was being Spanish dependent that put me off.
Now, I don't have a problem with subtitles. I watch all sorts of foreign films and I love them...but I have found that I've adopted a new habit with the Netflix binge paradigm that we've all migrated to over the last couple of years. Our habit is to watch 2-3 episodes per night, at about 70-90% attention while diddling around on our laptops at the same time.
With a film, or one show per week, I'm glued to the screen and get a bit angry if little noises distract me for a micro second. When I'm expecting to sit through 3 episodes in a go, I think my mind starts to hate the idea of subtitles. I guess there's a difference with investing 1-2 hours of your time and 3 or more, depending on the content.
I need to try and get going with this on early weekend mornings, I think.
