Narnia movies-> Anyone not get into them?

Listing of all the Narnia books

I thought Lion, witch, wardrobe to be meh. I liked the 80's cartoon version better.

I couldnt sit thru Prince Caspian. I stopped after they retreated from the castle. I went to Wikipedia to read what happened next.

In Wikipedia, i found out that the rest of the books have very little to do with the 4 kids. it slowly shifts to Cousins and friends as the main chars.

i guess it's all about the land of Narnia, and not the Kings/Queens of Old.

thus i feel even less about it because there's no steady central character to identify with. (Think Harry Potter books w/o Harry Potter for 1/2 the books.)

Your thoughts?

Well I didn't feel robbed of two hours of my life but didn't really get into it either. Only saw the first one and never read the books.

I've seen both movies and both times felt they were "meh".

I kind of didn't even care to see the second one buy my friend and his wife mentioned it so we went.

It was a lot of clichéd scenes and nothing that made it it's own really.

I loved the books as a kid, but thought the first movie was meh... I'll probably wait to see then 2nd on DVD...

No the 2nd is even worse.


The 2nd one is like a lamer version of the first.

The 2nd one is the same as the first. The kids try to handle it and get stuck they call/find the lion after it seems he will not show/fail. He comes out of no where just at the right time and saves the day. The end

My wife, being a woman, of course liked it. Yet she had a hard time not falling asleep??? Of course she never asked me a single question of the movie so that should tell you how simple it is.

First one was fine for what it is; children's book. It hit all of the highlights from the book. The second one was nothing great.

I read the entire series a few years ago and could barely finish it. The first book (The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe) was great, but after that it gets tangled, incoherent and pretty much boring. I never recommend reading past the first book.
The first movie wasn't great, they could have done alot better, but it wasn't terrible either.
Having read thebook, I have NO interest in seeing the second movie whatsoever.

Love the stories. Love how the first movie was made. Haven't seen the second yet. Very much dislike the child actors and actresses though. Especially the guy who plays Peter. That is the downfall.

lion witch and wardrobe was a decent movie, i enjoyed it

but this past weekend i saw prince caspian. i must say, it sucked ass...i mean, i suppose it was mildly entertaining with the fight scenes, but overall it was a waste of my time and money

I enjoyed the BBC adaptations of the books. The new ones are just CGI circle-jerks.

I read the first book in fifth grade, it was great. I read the rest of the books that year and regretted wasting my time. The movie adaption of the LIon the Witch and the Wardrobe was lame. I won't be seeing Prince Caspian.
