Lots and lots of people are now interested in home servers. If you need any evidence, look at all the new products that have come out in the past few years from WHS to HP media center PCs. This is an area that is only getting bigger and there is not a forum for it.
I am not talking just about a "WHS vs NAS vs Linux Server" forum. Currently, if you were researching building a home or small office server you would have to look in memory and storage, networking, Operating systems, software for windows, apple, *nix, etc... Not to mention the hardware forums to discuss builds for the boxes.
I think a forum for home servers would be a great help. I know the idea floats around the the suggestion box every year or so. The main objection in the past was there there is a networking forum. I do not think the networking forum is sufficient for two reasons, the first is that server conversations get lost in the threads, the second is that it is not an appropriate place to discuss WHS 2011, or hardware requirements for a Linux server.
All those in favor?
