it's an aquired taste i suppose......my friend...chinese dude...is obsessed w/ the sport...he was almost crying when his favorite driver he idolized since like what...for the longest time passed away in a tragic accident to allow for his teammate to win...(has no. 3 all over his room and car)


i used to jsut watch it when someone crashes...but when i realized the danger and life threatening stuff......ain't funny anymore.....but crashes are still entertaining i suppose...just like how we love to see people clotheslined in football...

I dont like NASCAR anymore than any of you guys... but after I realize how fast these cars are going and how close to each other they are racing, I reckon there must be SOME skills involved (although probably not a lot compared to other racing series)...

On the other hand, these guys dont even need to downshift or let off the throttle while cornering... They just use their left foot to brake while keeping their right planted on the gas... And when they are on the road course, the track needs to be widen for NASCAR...

heh. Well there are a lot of valid reasons not to like NASCAR, I don't particularly get the point of watching cars go 'round and 'round in a circle for two hours, myself. But 'because white people like it' isn't among those valid reasons, and offering such a reason says relatively little about the sport and more about the bigotry of the person espousing it.

Also, ever heard of Wendell Scott, Willie T. Ribbs, or Malcolm Durham? Those are just 3 drivers of many (Though I admit there isn't alot) that either run today or have in the Past with NASCAR. And guess what, they were/are black.
