Funny story. My first day of college, first class, first anything. I find my building and I'm nervous as sh!t. The class is freshman orientation. I walk through the door (room was Brown 2 something at La Tech) and there are about 30 or so people in there already. Soon as I walk in they all look up at me together and I make my way to the back of the class and sit down. I was the only white guy in a room of black people. All good but everyone was staring and cracking jokes. This was the room on my schedule so I sat tight. Teacher walks in and says "Welcome to Freshman Orientation for Black Engineers. Some of you may have signed up for the wrong class so see me after wards."

I saw her afterwards.

So there's an actual class that is specifically for black people? How many credits is this class worth? Do black credits count towards total credits or only toward street cred?

2) I'm brown so while I could kinda mesh in the SHPE conference looks-wise, I'm not really sure if I'll stand out in the NSBE conference.. While standing out could be a good thing, would they look at it in a negative light that I'm "stealing" potential opportunities from black engineers or are they as laidback as they were in the SHPE conference?

You will stand out more, and you will, to some people look like an opportunist who may be "stealing" opportunities as you say. The whole reason those companies are there is to try to increase black & hispanic diversity in their companies, so even if you have luck scoring interviews just by being there, that does not mean you necessarily will have as good a chance as anyone in the interview process.

Rather than trying to game the system, I'd focus on improving your chances in other ways - get contacts in the companies you want, show self-awareness, have realistic but differentiated goals, show companies you have a passion for the field you want to enter beyond just dollar signs, etc.

There are much easier paths to a stable job. Work for the state/government, be a teacher, nurse, etc. If you're primary motivation for being an engineer is a stable job and you want to stand out in interviews against your peers, good luck with that.

In 2001 I got nominated for Hispanic Engineer of the Year ( I didn't win). I'm not a member of any engineering society, I don't know how I got nominated, and I'm as white as a cracker can get.

People from the southern parts of India are as black as any Africans you'll find.
