Do you think nature is cold/chaotic or caring/nurturing?

The debates regarding conservationism vs naturalism seem to stem from these different philosophies and viewpoints on nature.

EDIT: Added both as an answer, since two people requested eat. Personally, I believe this answer is a cop out, unless you personify nature as a bipolar bitch.

Both. (should have made this an option.)

Everything comes about because of the existence of nature, without the elements fundamental to growth, there would be nothing (caring). Though the universe is also a chaotic universe, things break down over time (cold).

Basically it nurtures you into becoming something big and strong. Atoms & particles collect together to create something amazing and complex. Then time beats the piss out of you and turns you back into dirt. It's just a circle, one side being caring, the other being cold.

yin & yang. Black & white. Everything is balanced.

Nature has seasons. Season's have moods. Moods have baggage. Baggage has empty lonely feelings.

So I voted cold/chaotic [/insensitive/antagonizing/disrespectful/etc.]

The one that's based on reason and not emotion. Nature doesn't give a shit about tiny little you, nor does it care if you think things are getting "better" or "worse."

It just so happens that you're on a dust covered speck of iron spinning around a ball of burning hydrogen at the right distance for complex amino acids to clump together. If you value your own life more than that you have to behave with that indifference in mind.

Nature can't help but provide you with what you need since you evolved to need what it has. It neither offers itself up to you nor really cares if you partake on your own. If, through some unlikely event, you came into being completely unable to use what nature has it would not change itself to suit your needs. Nature does not care about you, or anything else. It does not cradle you in its arms and sing you to sleep at night. It just is.

The choices are being interpreted the wrong way, or the words chosen for the choices are just not the best for the job.

I don't think cold/chaotic is suppose to be interpreted as indifferent; and this is why it seems many of you using as your reason for choosing this choice.
Just as caring/nurturing doesn't translate to nature being involved or conscious in the way things are.

Nature provides us with everything we need to grow, and TIME is the reason why things break down. Though time could also be seen as a product of nature; and is widely considered to be so (ala Space-time).
Personally I don't see any way to interpret the choices as anything other than Both. Unless caring/nuruting is implying a conscious nature.

The circle of life is a process, not an emotion. Anthropomorphizing it doesn't explain it at all.

I voted both, but now that I think about it, I agree with this. "Neither" would be the best option.

From a practical standpoint, it's both. Literally speaking, it's neither.
