Navigating sectors in FTL.

Maybe I'm just slow but does anyone else get frustrated getting around the sectors in FTL. My main gripe is if you try to get to many nodes to collect stuff sometimes the route you want to take doesn't connect like you think it should. I just played and on the very first sector I was doing great and got to the node next to the exit but it didn't connect even though it was very close so I would have had to back track like 4 nodes and by then the rebels would have caught up to me.

Sometimes I've misjudged nodes I thought would connect, but I've never had a node that was very close not connect.

If you go to options, under gameplay, there's an option to "show beacon paths on hover"- if you enable it, it will show you which nodes are connected to which making things easier for your pathing.

its the first module i pray for ... and the most important in the game.

I got the game during the summer sale and this wasn't enabled by default.
