NBA 2k11 looks fantastic!

The controls seem very tight and once you learn the controls, it looks like you can do just about anything on the court. The Jordan mode looks interesting too. I can't wait...just waiting on some reviews but I think this might be a day 1 purchase.

what i hate about 2k sports is how you're forced into the player animations and can't break free midway.
i know it's to look pretty but it's frustrating.

This one has the option to alter you shots. Like hang on the jumper or alter layup and dunks. There are some vids I saw about that.

that's why i'm also interested in trying out the NBA Elite 11 demo. supposedly they got rid of the 2-player animations and the collisions are calculated on the spot. doesn't look as pretty but more user control.

i always thought 2K did good basketball games but lately, that caught-in-animation thing has been annoying. i read that they were getting away from that too, allowing you to break out of animations (altering shots, etc...).

I miss College Hoops the most. I still play College Hoos 2K7 and I do have 2K8, so maybe I should fire that up.

2k's NBA games are typically pretty awesome. I had a league with my brothers for 2K8 and we had a blast. I bought 2K10 last year and have only played a couple of games of it, but it was pretty well done. I just really suck at it.

seemed a little better than it has been, a bit more realistic gameplay but the animations are still a pain in the ass, and other players are still like immovable objects that you can't really interact against. game feels a bit better than before, but still is not right

EA's Elite
Here we go. doesn't look as real as 2K11 but the new controls are AMAZING. You start with a tutorial and I was very impressed. you control everything with a lot of precision, dribbling, moves, shooting. everything done on the fly and very quickly. the game actually does what you want it to do. very cool. not sure its enough for me to buy it, I haven't enjoyed a sports game in a long time

Elite '11 plays like garbage on so many levels. The new control scheme is a good idea, but not much better than simple button presses for the most part. They changed the improved physics of Live '10 and dumbed it down back to older games of thes series. The poor basketball glitches and unrealistic sloppiness are too much to overcome:

NBA 2K '11 continues to feel much more like real basketball, and the visuals+animation is the best it's ever been.

haha ya that was hilarious! read on another forum the jesus-pose is being patched, along with the free throw line dunks.

looks nowhere near as slick as 2k11, but still interested in trying out the demo just as a change of pace. hopefully available to silver xbl members now

Wish they'd just cut out the first 3min and have the glitch only in the video.

I told yas 2k games were glitchy. Glitches are funny though. Some game recently has a shit ton of funny ass glitches...I think it was Red Dead Redemption.

Yea something has to be up. I was looking forward to trying Elite as I've always been a 2K guy for NBA but I'm not waiting until next year to buy a basketball game.
