All-Star rosters should be left to coaches and management because they all know these players better than us.

the NBA is smart to market the most popular players in the all-star game. obviously, it's who the fans want to see the most.

No, I don't think that Vince Carter is the best player in the league. But that really isn't what the game is about anymore. The game is about putting on a show. So if it's Vince Carter that the people want, then it's Vince Carter that the people will get. The people running the NBA are not morons. They know perfectly well that fan voting isn't entirely based on talent. But if they really wanted a team based entirely on talent, they wouldn't have instated the fan voting system in the first place.

Actually the NBA says the All - Star game is their for them (The NBA ) to promote the games. That is why the tickets start at $500.00 and go up. They are absolutely NOT marketing to the general public.
