Just because the Lakers have two &quot;stars&quot; on their team, and not just one, doesn't make it team ball. It just looks a lot better than Philly's version, which feeds it to just ONE player who shoots under 40% half the time.

The closest thing to team ball that the NBA has seen in 12 years was the Utah Jazz...and it really relied on 2-3 players, not 5.

Somewhere along the line, in ALL major sports, the idea came about that your best player is SUPPOSED to hog the ball and force important plays. I think now they call it &quot;coming up big&quot; or &quot;wanting the ball.&quot;

I still think the UCLA Teams of the 60's and 70's were better This Laker Team would get their faces rubbed in it if they actually faced the great teams of the 80's and early 90's and even the Bulls Champioship teams would wax this years Flaker Team

The bulls would have some trouble with the lakers mabe 4-2 series because of shaq basically entirely of him. There isin't anyone who can guard that fat blob! And on top of that bulls have weak centers. Longley was horrible heh. But if shaq wasnt their and some other center the would most likely be swept.

Well the best we can do is to speculate. As much as I dislike the Laker Fanboys you have to give Props to Shaq and Company. It doesn't look like there is going to be anybody that'll be able to stop them in the next couple of years.

Stalinator, I give it to ya, I'm a Laker-hater, but, they showed up and kicked @ss. At least they didn't blow them out like everyone thought before. I do have to say that Shaq is far and away the best player on that team and the ONLY reason they have won 2 in a row. Kobe still doesn't show me that he's anything but an above avg. player. So as far as that goes, I still haven't changed my mind on that. But, I give you props on Shaq.

 

You don't play professional sports and have no skill.
People that have no skill, don't make the college team, or they go as far as the minors and thats it.

Yes Shaq is a HUGE man, and has been for as long as he has been playing, but no one is bitching as hard as they are now. Its unfair? Go get your own 7ft power forward, work him out for 5 years and then go win some games.

Maybe next year when a zone defense is allowed again, and the new 3 second in the lane rule for both the offense and defense is in effect, Shaq may not be able to continue to play the same as he does now. With the new rules the game is gonna be more based on exploiting the weaknesses of the defense. More outside play and exploiting the weaknesses that a zone defense can provide.

then how would u know what he gets away with? he doesn't get away with that many things. he gets away pretty much as much as what others get away with. if another player bumped another player, nothign would happen. if shaq bumped another player, the other guy would fall cuz shaq's a lot stronger than the avg player.

u guys call shaq fat, but how can a fat guy play 48 minutes of bball? he doesn't move much, but he goes up and down the court multiple times. he even carries all 330 lbs of himself into the air.

It's called endurance. Theres this pretty hefty kid in my gym class he ran the mile in 6 mins or so i was quite impressed.

Shaq isn't really that lean he's more on the fat side compared to the other players.

Perhaps the ZONE defense will help the skill improve in the NBA. Outside shooting is going to be strategic and team offense tactical by default. Some of the thugs won't cut it because they have to move their feet alot more than before.

I can honestly say that America is not playing basketball to the best of its origins. Sure the sport started in North America, but its played around the world. The game is played alot differently once you leave the states. I like the international rules alot. I also like the offensive goal-tending rule, there is none! It should be abolished in the NBA.
